Ok so the new RTX 50 series got released and i was wondering if i should upgrade my whole pc as well. my current pc spec Ryzen 9 5900X (Custiom AIO water cooling system) RTX 4080 Super 32GB DDR4 @ 3200 MT/S 750W 80+ Gold PSU (i forgot brand ok sheesh) 1x Kingston SATA SSD (1TB) 1x Crucial P3 M.2 SSD (4TB) proposed new PC AMD Threadripper PRO 7995WX RTX 5090 (Founder Edition) 128GB DDR5 @ 5400MT/S 1500W (or higher) 80+ Platinum PSU 2x Samsung EVO 990 PRO M.2 SSD (4TB) Custom advanced AIO water cooling solution please tell me your thoughts BEFORE YOU SAY IT: yes this is very expensive BUT i dont really have budget (well under 25k USD)
Well that sounds like a good build except that Threadripper. That's not a processor that's made for gaming/good for gaming. I'd recommend the Ryzen 9 9950X3D for a gaming PC. --- Post updated --- The 7995WX a processor designed for business use, however it will probably run Beam good. Still, $10k USD is a TON.
The 7995WX a processor designed for business use, however it will probably run Beam good ikr who does this dude think he is
I'd recommend a 285K system, if you want the fastest system to run beam with tons of AI cars.....you will want an arrow lake system it is far better than any AMD cpu (including the X3D ones)
If intel sucks why do their CPU's perform better in Beam? I'll wait for your proof that they do, because I have 100's of hours of testing with multiple intel and AMD systems that PROVE intel CPU's are better in beam. So I eagerly await your detailed reply with testing and data..... --- Post updated --- Lets see....West coast which is one of the hardest maps.....lets load 40 AI cars and see what happens 285K Intel CPU 24 Cores 7945HX3D 16 Core X3D CPU 10 fps difference. How about another map, that's not as hard as west coast, spawn 40 AI cars Lowest end 10 core 225 Arrow Lake CPU 285K 24 Core CPU 7945HX3D 16 Core 3D Cache CPU Even the lowest end intel Arrow Lake CPU has better performance than a 16 Core AMD X3D chip. Got any data to prove me wrong?
I'm not saying that Intel CPUs perform badly. I'm saying Intel as a company sucks. I don't have any data to back this up I just refuse to buy anything from Intel. Also, just a question- Why the 7945HX3D? Why not the 9950X3D? --- Post updated --- plus i am broke and dont have money for anythng
Because I wanted to try something a bit different (plus this is a Micro ITX form factor so I can build it in to a really small case. 9950X3D isn't going to give much better performance either. You can hate whatever company you want, but when its not based on anything and makes you miss out on the best performance you can get, well I guess that's a you problem
Interesting comparison: Core Ultra 225 (Intel's lowest end Arrow Lake CPU) 10 Cores 10 threads VS AMD R9 7945HX3D 16 cores 32 threads. What makes the 50 series problematic? We are talking about Beam here, so what's so bad about them? I have both and 5070 and 5070Ti and haven't had any issues in Beam with either card, and compared to my 4090..........at 4K ultra in Vulkan it gives just as high of playable framerates vs a 4090 so I'm not really seeing the problematic aspect?
What connector issue. I have 2 4090's and have had them for over a year ZERO issues. So you think that because a handful out of THOUSANDS had an issue that makes them all bad? Nah maybe you are just so poor you can't afford to buy high powered graphics cards like the 4090. I've got 4 systems in my house, 2 with 4090's 1 with a 5070Ti and the other with a 5070, what do you have? Integrated graphics because you are afraid of a tiny problem that happens to very very few people? Funny how my 4090's draw 559w and yet they are doing just fine.....
