First of all the car is real. It shares nothing with a c8 has a full custom chassis but uses c7 interior electronics and some components, the engine is very real. 2500hp has been done from an LS engine and this is basically a billet 16cyl version with 4 turbos Ground up build Steve Morris even has a video on the engine. Ive built billet 5 liter 4cyl that make 3500 on 15% nitro. Now the problem, no transmission that ever got hooked to it could hold the power. That's why the only one seen so far has a 1300hp v8 (plenty for anyone really) that shares almost nothing with a oem chevy v8 its a Steve Morris smx v8. Also there are apparently 2 ....a Japanese collector has one and Drake. Not sure on that. But it wasnt a scam. And still ain't. Designing a transmission has taken a long time. Hard to keep 5000ft lb in a transmission even harder tho get it through a pair of axles. Ya know a simple Google search could of kept everyone from spewing nonsense.
From what I've heard over the years, the Sixteen was fake. However, it's been over decade since it was unveiled so maybe they've sorted the kinks out and can start building them. But, I've got a feeling that even if they get production started, they won't build more than a handful because the cost would be astronomical, even with billionaires ordering them. Also, few transmissions on a car sized scale can handle 5000 horsepower and 3700 lb-ft of torque so that's probably not gonna happen. The Sixty, however, is more real than the Sixteen has ever been...
