I get the covet etc to rev to the moon but it doesnt even consume like half a tank after 4 hours of driving. its weird because ive had to drive or fly the fligeon and wingeon at max speed full throttle till they ran out and it took a few hours.... but a damaged engine burns more fuel doesnt it? when will we see more jet engines or reactors or something in beam. I know im asking a question that simply impossible to answer immediately but the ford nucleon isnt that impossible to create. all you need to do is factor in pressure of the reactor and temp etc and how much that turns to electricity for the drive motors. in short bursts a concept vehicle with a nuclear cell or battery can surge to speeds above 250 if controllable at those speeds. reactor driven rocket like vehicles can be something fun for track builder. I wanna make an INSANE TRACK lol. just for such a vehicle. players are pushing the absolute limits of piston engines in beam and in automation. dont you guys all think its time to add more than just pistons to beam?

I agree that the vanilla cars, such as the covet, should burn more fuel when idling, however comparing it to a mod that makes a car fly isn't really fair, since it's a mod, and the car is flying, which is something BeamNG is not properly set up for (it's a car sim).

Again, BeamNG is a car simulator, not a rocket simulator. I'm sure, if they wanted, the BeamNG devs could create a Ford Nucleon engine, but since BeamNG is not about anything other than cars/land vehicles (and it is down to modders to make mods like flying cars), the devs are not going to make a jet-engine.

The thing is, the devs want to keep the game at least semi-realistic with the cars they make, and to be honest, they have much bigger priorities than making a jet engine that can be put in a vehicle to make it go insane speeds. There are probably some jet-powered dragster mods (if that's what you mean) available for download, or maybe at some point a modder can make one. Or you could set up a mod request for that, but they can be hit or miss.

I do agree that the engine damage model (for normal ICEs, not a jet-engine) and how it impacts functionality could be improved though.
