Greets! I have found that if there is something I want to do, Beam can usually do it. In this case, I have not found the answer as of yet. I am using beam only as part of my video workflow, and for some scenes I simply want to jostle a vehicle a bit. For instance, I have an imported character sitting on the car and jumping off. What I do is pull down on the bumper node as the animation completes to it looks as if the car bounces a bit as the person jumps, making it look convicning. The issue is of course that it takes a lot of time to track out the node in post work. If there was a way to grab a node and then hide it similar to the way ctrl-u hides all UI objects, that would be perfect. Anyone know if this is possible? I am ok with messing with game code to make it happen as well. Cheers!
Ok, looked through every single LUA file for something called "nodeColor" as it was refrenced by someone but it seems to do nothing when I alter the alpha values. Looks like you cannot alter the alpha or color of a node or beam easily. To get rid of them in my screencap, I have to run a tracker like Mocha Pro in AfterFX to rework the footage. Takes some time. Have the ability to drop both node and beam alpha to something almost invisible woud be so much easier. Most likely the things I plan to do with Beam are far fetched compared to what most use it for, which of course is it's intended purpose.... gaming! For me, it is just another media creation tool.
Wow, I can't fathom how easy it was to actually do this. After spending an entire day looking through all of the LUA code in the game and trying to make this hapen there, I realized.... You just use the grabber and make your moves while recording with the replay app. When you play it back... no nodes! The way I was going at it would be like trying to change your oil by drilling down from the cab. Anyhow... done.
