I think it would be interesting to add the ability to define traffic based on a specific time period. For example, if you want to drive through Belasco in the late 60's and don't want to see modern cars, you could define traffic from the 60's. Also, I don't think this would be the hardest thing to achieve. thanks for consideration
Technically, there is already a way to do this, but it's rather finicky, so I agree that there should be a much easier way to do this, If you want to know how to do this, I've copied it down below. I have actually said this before in another thread, so this is a direct copy/paste from that thread to here: 'What you do is you press 'f11' to open World Editor, then you go to 'Window' at the top. On the drop-down menu, find the 'Gameplay' option and expand the side-bar. Then, there should be something called 'Vehicle Groups Manager'. Click on it. Now, once you're in this window, you can either select a pre-made vehicle group, or make a new one. There isn't currently a pre-made old-car preset, so you will have to make one yourself. Remember to name it something, such as 'Old', or the time period it is set in. Below the name, there should be two options, one being 'Custom', and one being 'Generator'. I personally find that the generator option doesn't work properly, as even if I select the 'max model year' to be something like 1960 (for your example), it still spawns in modern cars. This, however, may be different for you, so I would still recommend trying the 'Generator' option and setting the 'max model year'. Then you can press 'test generator' to see which cars it would spawn, but it doesn't actually spawn them (saving time and performance). If there are any modern cars in this selection, then the generator hasn't worked, so at this point I would recommend using the 'Custom' option I previously mentioned, where you select the cars manually. Remember to go to 'File' and then 'Save as', then add a file name and hit save before pressing spawn. Now you can spawn the cars in, then exit the WE by pressing 'f11' again, then press 'E', navigate to 'Traffic' (shows a symbol of a traffic light), then press the play button. You can refresh their placement by pressing Ctrl+Shift+T twice, so that the AI despawns and spawns back in. An easier way to do this, but one that takes more time in the long run, is to manually spawn in new cars using the vehicle spawner menu (ensure that you remove all other cars, except yourself, before doing this), then press 'E', navigate to 'Traffic', then press the play button. This does mean that you have to spawn each and every car in yourself, which means that if are going to do this a lot, it will become a hassle. The better way to do this is with the first method, once you get to grips with how to use it. It is important to note that these methods do not simplify the vehicles like with the regular traffic, which means that you will not be able to spawn in as many cars as with normal traffic without losing performance. I really recommend playing around with the World Editor, or watching YouTube videos on it, because there's a lot of cool features hidden in plain sight.' Hope this helps!
i knew that if i wanted to do this now it would be with the world editor but i didn't know how. thanks
