The controls are absolute crap at the moment, first the arrow keys are used instead of wasd, second from outside of the vehicle there's horrendous mouse lag, third in first person view the up and down view is reversed by default, what the hell?

There's also problems with the refresh rate, you're not even correctly getting the possible refresh rates, I have a 120hz monitor and all the game lets me choose is 60 or 75, ridiculous.

1.Every racing game I've played uses the Arrow keys
2.Use numpad to rotate instead of the mouse
3.Politely ask for a 120hz option in the suggestions thread.

This is a alpha made by *4* people what did you expect? A triple A game on first release?

WASD keys are standard throughout pretty much all games for movement. Using the numpad to move the camera is infinitely worse than a mouse. Why? Having the game actually use the monitor refresh rate is a pretty damn basic thing to have, if they really did just add it then there'll be problems for people with 59hz or larger screens at only 24hz.

You don't use the numpad to move? Dirt 3 and Dirt 2 used arrow keys... WASD are used for movement generally but racing games use arrow keys

WASD is standard for fps games. WASD doesn't make much sense if you want to have manual gear control.
