Repository link: https://www.beamng.com/resources/gavril-md-series-mega-hauler.35079/ This mod started out as an experiment with the newly added Type-C School Bus frame to see if the regular MD-Series cabs worked on it, sadly I couldn't get the crew cab and extended cabs working, but the regular cab worked basically straight away, I started adding more and more to it and got this mod as a result. This mod adds a new middle frame to the "Custom Cab Front Frame" which adds the ability the add the regular MD-Series cab, 2 upfits from the T-Series (cargo box + flatbed) with loads, sidesteps, side fuel tanks, mudflaps, configurations, etc. I have also added some parts labelled 'Ultra Torque' when I didn't really know what I was doing with the engine, these are not really needed and are pretty unrealistic but I left them in for a certain config. I have tried to also balance the configs prices for career mode, though I have never actually played it and to be 100% honest I have no idea if this thing will even work in career mode. I am open to your opinions on these prices if it does actually work, as a couple may need changing. I am posting this here and not the repo as id like to see if people like it first and so I could maybe change some things before I put it on if I ever do, I am open to all criticism, you are also free to make mods for this if you want to. Known issues/things that may need changing: The main fuel tank causes a jbeam explosion if you equip stuff from the the right side steps/fuel tank slot, Info.json files are probably inaccurate, Cargo box breaks slightly at the front on heavy loads, Bigger size tires catch on the upfits with lower rear mounts, Mudflaps seem to get caught and rip off easily. Could you make a skin template for the extended dryvan upfit? It would definitely be perfect for mods like the Fictional Trucking & Service Skin Pack.
really like this mod, it suits the MD-Series really well. would love to have a tow hitch like on the regular MD Series Upfits tho.
The cargo box is ripped straight from the T-Series so you should be able to use the T-Series cargo box uv to skin it Will try and see if I can add one in an update
At that point, you may as well use a T-Series instead... --- Post updated --- When I attach side steps to this new upfit, that and the fuel tank come apart after spawning! Please fix this. --- Post updated --- Ok, I managed to make a skin for this upfit on the MD.
Love this mod however I have 2 things that maybe could be improved. The first is that I believe the upfits might have some problem with the biggest tires. It is slower than usual and I am thinking the wheels are rubbing against the upfits. This only happens when you have low rear suspension mounts and the big tires. I tried it with smaller wheels or high mount suspension and was able to go faster. The next one is that there are two exhaust slots which I am wondering if you can just turn both into one. One of them is the original bus exhaust and then there is the regular cab exhaust.
Thanks for the feedback, I had a look into the tyres catching on the upfits, there does appear to be an issue but sadly I’m not too sure on how to fix it, I can’t really see anything I can reasonably do to fix it. Id recommend like you said using the higher mounts with the bigger tires, I will add it to the known issues list also. As for the 2 exhausts issue I’ll see if I can rename the slot name for one of them and remove one for each config when I next update it, should be a quick fix
I had a look at adding it a few weeks ago but sadly i found that it caused an explosion when equipped, i might attempt it again another time with another hitch jbeam but i can’t promise anything sadly
