There have been graphics bugs on AMD. No reported issues on NVidia.

Would just like to point out that the issues on AMD cards have now been fixed.

 

it depends on how much performance you want if you want a budget graphics card then look to the 750ti or 760 they deliver performance (even the 750)

Would an r9-290 be overkill?

 

at $600 you can easily afford up to a gtx 980

but for only 1080p no reason to get that, just get a gtx 970 with that resolution and budget

and yes, an r9-290 would be overkill

 

All right so gtx 970 is fine for this game and others (just to clarify)

 

oh yes, the gtx 970 can easily max any game at 1080p with playable framerates

it would yes, although EVGA has been known to have coil whine problems, so you might get an MSI or Asus STRIX or gigabyte card instead

 

What would you recommend with a budget of probably $150 or even $100?
