So this has probably been mentioned; but what about the ability to program in failures.

A UJ or even UJ circlip failing on the D-Series Prop Shaft at the transmission end at 80mph would be catastrophic and catapult the truck for example. Like on flight sim, programmable failures. wheel nuts coming loose could be another.

That is cool and all, but most users would find it annoying when you're driving around a race track and all of the sudden -- ---- -- - -

THe only thing i want is realistic drive shaft flex

You know hauling shit with a overpowered truck and it flex like crap doing a wheely ;)

People think a car will broke easily... Seen thing on youtube like pickup jumping and car all stock and nothing come loose except the Steering and all got Bent

and engine in rev limiter on neutral dont die.. they overheat the radiator and blow it up and still run run run run may stall but wait it cold down mostly

Engine and car are stronger than we think

Well as I said you could program failures in, like Flight Sim

I didn't suggest programmable failures, but suggested failures as a result of a nasty accident

Hmm, no, I think BeamNG have it pretty spot on. Cars are tough but not as tough as many games or films would make out. For example, a Military Grade Hummer H1 would be wrecked if it hit a concrete block at 40mph despite what a lot of movies would suggest. If you over rev and wheelspin a rear wheel drive truck like the D15 its very easy indeed to destroy half shafts, and an engine losing its oil or coolant wouldn't last more than a few miles before "kicking a leg out of bed" or seizing.
A heavy jump in a truck again, like the D15 would certainly kink the chassis. BeamNG is pretty spot on.

Kink the chassis but still run and run oil leak? must be really unlucky to not be able to run for 1h anyway who run 1 h in beam ng ahah

Drive shaft can go in strange situation and last

a ford focus at 200kmh in a wall = no more car

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnI-LiKCtuE a smart at 70mph in a wall still in good shape

A Chevrolet silverado jumping still probably able to drive it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8W85WjayKQ

Clean example of how car can handle thing

Yes but it would not run with no oil for THAT long lol, the drive shaft can go when the UJs have not been correctly serviced

It would be nice to have (vehicle) engine noises/looks... like if you hit a wall the engine starts to smoke and it starts to make rattle noises; similar to GTA 5.

i guess it depends whether the devs see BNG as a simulation or as a game. personally i think it would not be a useful tool. it makes sense for a flight-sim since it can be useful for training in a plane, where you can't just pull over to the side of the road. For BNG as it sits now, it would get more use from driving lessons (eg points deducted every time you fail to yield or cross into the other lane), rather than failures.
