Cant import height map to map editor/

I want to make a map mod but when i try to import the height map the game makes a small square plate and after couple of seconds it crashes with this error code 0x00000001. I have tryed making the height map smaller, bigger, used a diferent image, change the maximum height and nothing is working. I need help.

Btw i was also following this tutorial:

 

Image sizes:
1024 x 1024 or
2048 x 2048 or
4096 x 4096
Format: png 16 Bit greyscale
Scale 1 is the easiest
Get the approx height difference from lowest to highest point of your terrain in meters and use this as maxheight parameter.

 

This time the map generated properly but after a while it crashed again with the same error code.
