Whenever they re-touch this car they should honestly add an EUDM spec.

They did that with the Bolide, and they've been adding market-specific versions to more cars since then (Covet, BX, Miramar, Lansdale, Sunburst) - they could absolutely add EUDM versions for the I-Series. There's already metric gauges for both the standard and TTSport dashes.

That would be an interesting bit of lore, imo CHMSLs are a good thing
Yeah, that's a bit weird that you can't remove it.

I think it's more likely that the devs didn't want to make two versions of a vehicle where only one part is different, so they just stuck the CHMSLs on the US Bolide and LeGran, even if they were produced pre-'86. Speaking of CHMSLs, the pre-facelift D-Series versions (1986-1991, so produced before they were legally required on light trucks IRL in 1994) still have CHMSLs, even though that is now a part that you can remove. I'm not sure if this was an oversight or intentional. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the former, considering how many versions of the D-Series there are (and how inconsequential the CHMSL would be towards vehicle performance or appearance for most people).

To be fair, the I-Series was released in 2016, well before remasters, different market variations, facelifts, and extra body styles became commonplace, and it still hasn't even gotten a refresh. So, it's understandable that the CHMSL can't be removed on it yet.

I assume the part was there specifically for a functional purpose, rather than accuracy. In the D's case it is removable precisely because of upfits and other obstructions. Not sure why they've decided to have them removable on the other cars. Whether for user convenience, or perhaps for stripped out configs, like the LeGran derby.

In BeamNG's lore, ETK is a brand concerned with safety, so they would probably use CHMSLs even if it was not mandatory

I think the I series would be the best car in beamng if it had coupe and wagon variants and a small high revving v8 engine

However, none of the config uses the "rally interior", that was added along the NGRC2 rally models.

From what I noticed, the I-Series is a bit heavier and less powerful, but the Knallhart does not overheat and the Drift finally has its model years.
However, it is strange that the "Track" is listed as a 1987-89 model, since 1987 is the introduction of AWD and the Track is RWD. And then, the Evo homologation debuted in 1990, after the race car retired, so it cannot be a homologation model.

It would be great, when the Facelift model could have the option for an airbag steering wheel ;)

Also more interior variety like sport front seats (not race) or manual crank windows. Just the trimless bumpers is not facelifted enough, I think :)

I honestly wish the facelift was more unique, there is almost no difference.

I would like to see a group A touring car model added. the version I tried to make in game overheats on Conrod at Bathurst and flips over pretty easily (could just be something with the suspension)

the facelift is more unique than most old bmw facelifts they ever got

    1981 standard

    m5 variant

    1987 spec

and yes, they had a facelift in 1984
what changed? i dont have a single clue
