The tograc, wendover, and legran exist in the game, I don't think they're going to avoid adding a car simply because it's "bad" or "unpopular".

If anything, they wouldn't add a 3rd gen taurus because it's too similar to the legran and 90s pessima.

The wendover is unpopular? Since when lol. I know it's not the be all end all car but it's a good filler car.

The Pessima needs awd and a wagon and a 2 door hatchback and slightly higher suspension

I couldn't post this in the '88 Pessima thread, since that hasn't been replied to in over four years, so I'm putting it here.

So, the recent discussion in the LeGran thread made me realize that the '88 Pessima is turning 10 years old this December. It will also be my 10th year of owning this game (I bought it 26 December 2015). I don't expect a remaster/refresh for it this year, but it could get a refresh in the near future, since it's one of the big rally-oriented cars in the game. Whenever it does get a refresh, some of the (most likely) things that I hope to see for it are...

-At least one new body style: Similar IRL cars of the era often had several body styles, including coupes (Accord, 626, XV10 Camry), wagons (Accord, Camry, 626, Legacy, Galant, Maxima), liftbacks (Accord (3-door), Galant (5-door)), and even hardtop sedans (V20 Camry, Galant, Maxima). Considering how many extra body styles we've received for both new and old cars in the past six years, I feel like we could get at least a hardtop sedan - none of the '88 Pessima's rivals have that. A coupe would be swingin', and a wagon especially so, but I don't think either would happen, since they'd be too close to the Wendover and LeGran. Even the liftback might be slightly too close to the BX.

-JDM variants: Market variants have also become more common over the years, and the Sunburst, Covet, and BX all have RHD versions. I think this is quite likely to happen, but the '88 Pessima is a tad too wide to fit the 5-number regulations (1.72m, according to its blueprint poster). However, the third-gen Honda Prelude was slightly wider in the US than it was in Japan (1.71m vs. 1.69m), due to different side moldings. The '88 Pessima could receive a similar treatment to this, with the US variants having wider fenders than the JDM versions. We'll likely get Type-L and Type-LS versions similar to the BX/facelift Covet. Probably also a turbo GTz, with the US getting an N/A GTz (although as I said in the LeGran thread, the US did get the first-gen Galant VR-4). Maybe even a "ZXStates" with the wider sides? An even wackier variant could be a "TTSport", similar to the Galant AMG.

-A facelift: Since 0.15, 12 vehicles have gotten at least one facelift, either new or in refreshes. I feel like a facelift would be a great way to cover the gap between the '88 and '96 Pessimas without having to make a whole new car. While four- or five-year generations for Japanese sedans were very common in this period, the Mitsubishi Galant often had long-lasting generations. The sixth-gen went from '87 to '94 (facelift in '91), while the eighth-gen went from '96 to '03 in most markets (facelifts in '98 and '02, final production in '06). The fifth-gen Galant even lasted until 1999 for fleet buyers.

-A larger engine: The V20/XV10 Camries and second/third-gen Maximas had V6s. The V20's was 2.5L, while the Maximas and XV10 used 3.0L lumps. The JDM second-gen Maxima even had a 2.0L turbo V6. The '96 Pessima's 2.7L V6 could go right into the '88 for its US GTz variant, but I feel like a 2.5L could make the '88 Pessima feel more like an older version. The 2.4L four from the BX could also work (the first-gen Altima used the same KA24DE as the 240SX), and it'd be the most likely approach, IMO. (Hopefully, if the '88 Pessima gets the 2.4L four, the Covet could also receive it.)

-A rebadge/new model: This was quite common in Japan, with models like the Mitsubishi Eterna (hardtop Galant), Toyota Vista (hardtop V20 Camry), and Honda Vigor (luxury Accord, initially). We already have the Diana and 200BX for that platform. One way to connect the three Ibishu sedans would be to have early Japanese-market versions named as the "Miramar Pessima", much like how the second-gen Maxima was called the "Bluebird Maxima" in Japan (see also: Celica Camry). We have a similar treatment with the Bluebuck and its "Marshal" variants, which precede the Grand Marshal. If we get a coupe, that could also be a different model (i.e. Prelude, Camry Solara, MX-6).

And finally, a bit of a moonshot...

-An AWD-AWS rear suspension: The first-gen Galant VR-4 had this combo in 1987, so hopefully, we get it on the '88 Pessima, as well. The current AWS system could stay as an option for the ZX, but AWD with AWS would be another way to differentiate the '88 Pessima from the LeGran and I-Series. This could also make the '88 Pessima more competitive with the FCV and Sunburst. I highly doubt this would happen, since we haven't gotten another AWS system on any other car in the almost 10 years since the '88 Pessima came out (unless you could the skid-steer Wydra). However, it would be incredible to see.

I think that the 88 Pessima could use a 4 door hardtop and a touring car variant with a better looking fender flares and aws awd and the covets dohc 1.5l i4 and a police variant and a better aftermarket wheels (lightweight racing)

Have you tried the KLJP mod? That adds pretty many things from this list (tho they made the one that's ingame rn the facelift and gave it a prefacelift with pop-ups)

I am fully aware of that - however, as I said in the LeGran thread...

I'm not against the KLJP mod having what it has, but there's no guarantee that it'll remain updated. For instance, when the Covet got remastered in 0.26, it took almost nine months until KLJP was able to support that car again. And since this car has yet to receive a refresh, it could still get more things for it officially.

I'm not sure if we'd get popups for the '88 Pessima - most of its IRL counterparts didn't have them (the Accord was the only one, AFAIK). But if we were to get a coupe, that would make it more likely. Even better, the devs could use the same front end/body split technique of the BX for the '88 Pessima, so there could be a pop-up sedan or a fixed-light coupe.
