those 2 engines are wildly different. pretty sure the Hopper I6 is based on the AMC 4.2L that has pushrods while the intech is an SOHC engine with a crossflow cylinder head (intake and exhaust headers are on different sides of the engine). the only thing I'd say is similar between them is the cylinder layout and the displacement
Yeah, I am purely basing it off of the fact that they have same displacement, same amount of cylinders in the same arrangement, and the fact that the valve cover looks similar. In fact it wasn't until I put in both images up that I realised the intake and exhaust were on opposite sides. The whole purpose of this message however was essentially to say "this is the closest thing to an Intech" and not "hopper I6 = Intech." I don't think I conveyed that very well unfortunately. Also if you slap a turbo on the hopper I6 it goes bonkers, which is similar to what a lot of people end up doing to AU Falcons and what the result ends up being.
DAMM if i knew how to mod i would MOD the GM make it RHD and Model a EFI for the Hopper six, I had 2 barra great engines, ( hopes devs reading all us wanting aussie cars ) More on that, They would have to MODEL lots and LOTS of stuff, coupe ( if its 60s.70s ) . make a sedan/ute/van platform Them a WAGON ( they where often longer then sedan ) For engines we did not get the emissions stuff till july 1976, So that does help. Fords used 3.3 as a base i6 then the 4.1 was a big six, Then the 4.9 ( 302 ) and the 5.8 ( 351 ) as a big block. Holden had the same 2 six's ( I mean they had a base 6 and then the 202 ... god i miss the red motors ) and then the 4.1 v8 the 5.0 v8 and the rare import 5.8 350 chev. Then there was the aussie valiant HOWEVER aussie cars started in the late 40s ( in holden's case ) and started in 1960 making the US Falcon, We started to change the falcon in 1962 with the XL falcon, BUT to be fair, The devs could do a 50s way up till 2010s, And i guess maybe to save some time. Offer a RHD bastion, add a wagon and ute, Bingo a aussie car, However i would LOVE and ADORE a aussie based range of car's
Yeah, I think if the GM were to receive a straight-six, it'd be the 4.1L in the D/H/Roamer. I believe that's SOHC, but I could be wrong on that. (The modern Gavril V8s are SOHC, just like many of the Ford Modular V8s.) However, I'm not sure if the 4.1L will be dropped into the GM, since the GM is likely meant to be a Panther-platform (or at least, shares its dimensions with the period Crown Vic). Old Gabe-designed cars have been made more like specific IRL cars in recent years. A few examples of this: -BX having a fixed- and pop-up front end, liftback and coupe body styles, a 2.4L engine in the US, and a Japanese-market coupe variant with a different name (like the Nissan S13) -Sunburst switching to flat engines (like the Subaru Impreza) -Burnside starting production in 1952 and switching from a flathead V8 to OHV V8s in 1953 (like the first-gen Mercury Monterey) There are likely a few other examples, but those are some of the major ones. It might also be an issue of the 4.1L straight-six not fitting in the GM - a similar issue's why the LeGran doesn't have the Soliads' V8. There's plenty of space lengthwise for the straight-six to fit, but it might be slightly too tall. And even if there were to be a straight-six in the GM, I doubt it'd get a turbo or any other major tuning options. The Burnside's straight-six is the only one of its type to have a power range of more than 50 hp, and even that barely cracks 200 hp without nitrous.
We got a new warning for cpus with less than 6 cores. Could mean nothing, but could also hint at something, like a new feature that might demand more from the cpu.
I only have a 4-core CPUs (i7-6700), I hope I'll still be able to play the game in the future, I just got the game too.
Maybe it means the devs are just as tired as I am about people complaining the game runs poorly when they're trying to run it on a graphing calculator or a typewriter or whatever. It makes sense as the game goes on, it gets more intensive to run, so it's necessary to keep consumers informed.
Since the forums have been slow, I thought I would share some of my speculation. There are many vehicles that need to be updated before we get new content. Most vehicles get some updated light textures before a refresh, they dont but everything else is updated. Here is a list of vehicles that I think have a good chance of being updated. The Wentward DT40L. This has the biggest chance of being updated since it was given overhauled textures last update. And in the changlog they say the reason the lights and engine weren’t updated was due to time constraints. So we will for sure get updated lights and engines. I think we will receive a facelift for it, and maybe an articulated version. 96’ Pessima. This has a good chance of getting new content because it had some new light textures added, but they did not get given the new fading light system. Simplified traffic. Agentmooshroom5 said that the hopper and certain MD Series configs for the traffic are planned. I found a taxi sign in the simplified 96’ Pessima model which may mean they are waiting to update the Pessima before putting the Taxi config in. If you are wondering the taxi sign is fully textured, and it only took me 10 mins to get it working in game. The Hopper. PLEASE UPDATE IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. What do you guys think? --- Post updated --- Since the forums have been slow, I thought I would share some of my speculation. There are many vehicles that need to be updated before we get new content. Most vehicles get some updated light textures before a refresh, they dont but everything else is updated. A facelift would be quite likely - the DT40L's years could easily go into the late-2000s (or even longer, since the Gillig Low Floor (1996-present) is still in production). As for an articulated version, I wouldn't be surprised if the limo and the new props (particularly the spike strip and trampoline) were "demonstrators" for that. I sure hope so. As I said in its thread, the '96 Pessima's sorely lacking in content compared to the LeGran, '88 Pessima, and I-Series. Its remaster was shockingly minimal, even four years ago. I hope that it'll get at least some of the things that the LeGran has (like AWD and a second body style), but I'm a bit pessimistic about either of those happening. The Covet didn't get either of them in its remaster (the MR version's practically a different car - a 5-door or a sedan would count more as an alternate body style). I'm not quite sure what the Hopper needs for it to be refreshed. Maybe the devs want to refresh it when they figure out how to make convertible tops work? Seems a bit odd to me to let such a popular vehicle languish. Also, I hope that within the next few updates, we get a Barstow and/or Moonhawk refresh. The latter particularly needs it.
That, and, the mod that adds an articulated Wentward, the Wentward Pack, was originally made by Ai'Torror, who is a BeamNG developer.
I'm not sure if the devs are going to give the Hopper IFS. There's already plenty of off-roaders with that (Roamer, Charro, SPs, Stambecco and Aurata (independent all around for the last two)), and none of the Jeep Wrangler generations have had IFS. The Suzuki Jimny is also solid-axles on both ends for all four generations. All the classic Land Rovers were solid-axles only, too. Even the Land Cruiser didn't have IFS until the J100 generation (and that gen still had a solid front axle as an option). The only similarly-sized pre-2000 Japanese off-roader I've been able to find that had IFS is the first- and second-gen Mitsubishi Pajero, but those didn't have a convertible top. You also have to keep in mind that the devs have been bringing the game vehicles closer to specific IRL vehicles over the years. A few examples I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread: Another example is the Miramar, which received a coupe and ute in its refresh and switched back to SOHC engines in 0.37 (like the Toyota Corona Mark II, which is similar in size (but lacked a 1.6L DOHC engine, which the smaller Corona 1600GT had)). The head for the 1.6L DOHC engine looks very similar to the Toyota 9R that the Corona 1600GT used. Whereas the new 1.9L DOHC head is quite similar to the head for the Toyota 18R-G (a 2.0L DOHC inline-four from the 1970s, used in the Celica). In the case of the Hopper, it's already quite close to a specific IRL car. Gabe said that it was meant to be a Wrangler mechanically (the TJ Wrangler had a 2.5L inline-four, a 4.0L straight-six, and coil-sprung live axles), and also references the Toyota FJ40 in this post (which also had a few ~4.0L inline-sixes). I don't mind if the Hopper gets IFS - nor do I think it's impossible. I just don't see it as very likely, based on recent remasters/refreshes.
So though I would share some speculation on my theory that the Simplified Traffic will be updated. Here's what I got so far. 1) - The Hopper and some MD Series configs will be added. As stated. Agent Mooshroom5 stated there were plans for them to be added on this thread. Saying that some MD Series configs will be added (Short frame ones, the Ai can't handle long vehicles) Also said there were plans for the Hopper to be added. No news if the SBR4 will be added, though I hope it is. 2) - Traffic Wendover hasn't been updated The light textures on the Simplified Traffic Wendover haven't been updated to the new light textures introduced in v0.37. This could mean they are waiting to add them when more content is added to the traffic. Left is the normal Wendover, right is the Simplified Traffic Wendover. 3) - More Configs In the DAE file for the Simplified Traffic 96' Pessima there is a taxi ad carrier, which is not a current config in the traffic, supporting that the traffic will receive more content. Also, the Ambulance Upfit is in the common DAE meaning they likely plan to add an simplified ambulance config for the MD or D Series, which both have them on their normal vehicles. Bonus! As agentmooshroom5 said, they tried adding simplified police, but the AI couldn't handle the simplified cars at high speed. Here are the remnants of that on the DAE for the Bastion. Also there are police wheels for the Bastion in the simplified traffic.
