Update Speculation thread

I think the Moonhawk could get a refresh:
i. It has really few configurations, especially if you consider that each base model is put 4 times, for each transmission A/M and before/after facelift
ii. The Moohawk is based on the Chevelle, and the "Moonhawk Special" is a Chevelle Laguna. But the trim could use names that reference the Laguna/Malibu trim names of the Chevelle
iii. There is an undercover cop, but no cop livery, no taxi, no drift, a drag without a dedicated race livery, and no stock car, while the Chevelle won in NASCAR
iv. The El Camino was based on the Chevelle, so the Moonhawk could get a ute body

 

What I'm trying to say is that the simplified traffic wendover won't be getting new light textures any time soon, since they have already been converted to simplified traffic standards

 

Dude you are not getting what i am saying. The pessima last update got new light textures, so the traffic version did too, but the wendover didn’t get the same treatment.

 

Wait…. What plans do we think the devs have with the simplified traffic ambulances?

I wonder if its a FULL ev, Like a tesla or something, OR more to my point some kind of Hybrid? I know some mods have added this, some better then others over the years,
Seeing EV and hybrid are starting to be everyday, In fact a non hybrid is getting somewhat rare now IRL and will be more and more rare ( let alone a NA engine without turbo ) Anyway

I would love the see a new age D-series, Like 2020s as often wanted by most of us, This way we could get say,

base i4
i4 hybrid,
i6 ( or V6 )
I6 or v6 Hybrid,
v8
NOT sure if the v8 would be hybrid

And most trims would be like todays utes ( trucks/pick ups ) over Luxury ( witch i dont mind )
With base models also being included,

PS i would love to thank Beamng for giveing base models love i.e

I6 bluebuck/barstow/Moonawk/burnside ( and most with 4 door )

Or could be way off and be a new age SUV ( witch also would likely have Hybrid )

 

Since this new car was said to have experimental tech in it, its etheir a French car with complex sespension, or a 2010s hybrid, like a prius.

I think the devs are changing a lot behind the scenes given the amount of bugs this update.

 

Maybe the new car is based on Volvo's modern hybrid SUVs? It can fill many gaps in BeamNG's vehicles all at once: a modern SUV, a Swedish car, a hybrid vehicle, and a brand that manufactures both cars and EUDM trucks.

I like to be optimistic with these things, so I'm hoping we'll see something that hasn't been attempted in Beam yet; active/hydropneumatic suspension and hybrids have been done by modders before. Theoretically it could range from pre-selector gearboxes to cylinder deactivation in terms of complexity.

 

I dont think a properly simulated hybrid system has been done, its more “when car slow switch to ev”

 

Yep, IIRC the game doesn't like having two separate engines, so hybrids are probably on the "maybe someday" list

I think we will be due for our first teaser tonight. No particular reason or evidence, just feel like it's about the right time.

It could happen today, for sure. I don't think it's guaranteed, but I wouldn't be surprised. The gaps between the release date for the previous update and the first teaser for the next update since 0.29 (including the end date):

Always good to hope. MORE SIMPLIFIED TRAFFIC CARS.

Also they should start adding more content between updates. The only actual content they have added between updates is the Gambler 500 ETK I and the red and black taillight housing to the Sunburst. It would be nice if between updates they added some small content, like configs and bodykits or a new scenario, just small stuff to keep interest in the game without mods.
