Nice! It so much easier to deal with when it starts from the outside In your last picture there it looks the sill sheet metal is sort of tack welded and bent up to meet the wheel well housing on the corner, or is that just my poor eyesight playing tricks?
Scotch-brited my muffler. Thinking about Eibach lowering springs & can't decide if i want to run spacers or not
Its like that from factory at least i think so. Seeing how much filler there was i have the feeling that they already did stuff there. I dont really think that its tack welded though since it looks more like its pressed or formed
I could not be more happy with how the GS1000 is turning out. I'm taking it on longer and longer rides and it just rides amazing, even with the probably 40 year old tires (somehow not dry rotted) even with flat spots. Can't wait to get it plated/insured and get my motorcycle endorsement I also re organized my workspace going from this to this Since the GS is just about done with what I wanted to do to it this summer, shifting my focus to my Red basket case SL350k2, which I heard run for the first time a few days ago. really excited to get that bike going
got a set of front blinkers finally, really finished off the aesthetics on the bike also got a set of tires for the 250ef finally. glad to have that thing back in the game
finally make enough to order the parts i need to get my chrysler 300 running again. Bad part is now i dont have the time to work on it lol.
After years of trying and way too much money spent, I finally got a working AM/FM radio with preset buttons that isn't a damn tape player. Best of all it I got from a friend of a friend quite randomly, and bester of all, it's a Radiomobile, one of the highest quality brands for automotive radios. That bad boy works so nicely, with no static, rock solid reception and a decent sound to boot. Although its poles are too narrow to fit in the dashboard, that's proven to be a blessing as now I can fit factory radio in place (that sadly no longer works) so everything looks nice and original with the newer unit (that looks to be from the '70s) slung under the dash closer to me. Of course its "mounted" in true redneck fashion; With some fencing wire! Anyway, enough waffling... Pictures! Oh and I did some actual repair work too, though those didn't warrant any pictures; Had to loosen the sector mesh adjustment on the steering box, had it over three turns too tight, no wonder the steering was so heavy. Also the front shocks were replaced with some second hand units from a friend, made the car significantly more stable at speed and less undulative on what passes as highways here. Now that the tires are no longer over inflated as before, all these small things have really made the car a lot more enjoyable, easier and safer to drive. We'll see how long that lasts for though..
Went to buy tacos in my 14 mazda 6.Sitting in the drive through and it suddenly runs like complete crap popping and sputtering. get it home hook up code reader and find 11 codes. lean on bank 1, high voltage throttle body, low voltage maf, ecm internal fault(this code usually sets when a parameter in the ecm goes beyond what it should), fuel pressure sensor code ect. Start simple unplug the MAF sensor and it runs worse so its not that. Un plug each coil one by one and find all the cylinders are firing fine so its not that. Luckily i have versa tuner on my laptop thats kinda also like a fancy scan tool and allows me to view live data on everything. Find the fuel pressure sensor wigs out when i first start the car then gets stuck at 62 psi and doesnt read which is the issue. Took all my tools to work so i have to go buy new wrenches to remove it but for some reason finding a wrench size bigger than 22mm is almost impossible so im running around everywhere trying to find one. Then after i finally get it out No one carries the part and now my car doesnt run great start to the weekend.
I own the Cars and Bids 1988 Subaru XT GL 4WD now Say hello to Hubert Getting it resealed soon because it leaks comically bad like every classic Subaru, but otherwise happy with my purchase
Came to the conclusion awhile ago that the high pressure fuel pump failed on my mazda. Bought a new high pressure fuel pump(was 800 bucks ouch) it finally arrived today so i installed it(was a pain in the butt cause everything's so tightly packed in the engine bay) car now runs though. not only runs but runs way better than it ever has for a couple years now. Sadly when the fuel pump failed it set off a ecm internal failure code which i cannot clear apparently i have to take it to the dealer to clear the code smh.
