Re: General discussion chat 4.6GHz is nothing to my AMD behemoth. Also, leave the xboxes the way they are and hopefully it'll die of overheating. I wonder if any of my old laptops have overheat protection.. Let's find out, shall we? (They're all just old Pentium M shitty things.)
Re: General discussion chat I just realized how many pages this thread has. It may very well be the longest thread in the history of threads Speaking of AMD behemoths, I am currently planning a 24-core, 24GB RAM baby mainframe. I'll probably build it next year, waiting for more powerful Opterons. Anyone ever heard of the SGI UV? Stephen Hawking has one. I want one to play BeamNG on This thing could do 120 FPS easily. Up to 256 CPU sockets
Re: General discussion chat Except the pentium at 4.6ghz will still have more single thread ability than your AMD will ever have
Re: General discussion chat Yeah, but I will smash you in both multi core applications and price/performance. So apparently having my 256MB stick in this laptop causes the graphics to look like a failing dedicated GPU.
Re: General discussion chat I'm probably gonna sell my ps3 and buy a laptop. I'd like to have a 360 to play Forza but I need a laptop. I'll most likely get a Lenovo Thinkpad with a 1st or 2nd gen i5.
Re: General discussion chat I need a laptop as well, but I'm too broke to buy anything that advanced. Dell D600 running Linux, please. Besides, BeamNG is by far the most rigorous game I play. The rest of my games will run on a D600 with WINE.
Re: General discussion chat I have my rig for games, most computer intensive thing I might do on a laptop is adobe illustrator. I'd like one with 4GB RAM, but it's easily upgraded so 2GB is not a problem. I just want a Thinkpad because they're the most reliable laptops around.
Re: General discussion chat Once again i find myself looking to see if anything has been done or even happened due to the music tech screw up. Still pissed of that i am having to resit the entire flipping first year of the course due to the exam board. A levels are hard enough without having to redo an A-Level that has as much coursework as music tech along side the second year of music technology, especially when you have to make your own time to do that first year again. https://marktaylorchameleonmusic.wordpress.com/2014/05/21/music-technology-2014-exam-in-dual-mono/ I should stop looking for more info on this, the more i look the more angry/depressed i get. fml
Re: General discussion chat Just bought an airsoft gun (hyperactive currently) All the stuff in the picture for only £130 Saved myself like £170 Need to buy bb's, chest rig, gloves and mask [SARCASM]Hooray, it's so cheap ![/SARCASM]
Re: General discussion chat I bought a paintball gun and a ton of accessories for $100. Sold the gun for $200 and I still have all the other stuff in a huge box.
Re: General discussion chat Referring back to the money management debate prior. I currently have the funds to buy a Subaru impreza 2.0 awd turbo. I would love to. I wont. There is a difference between having the cash to make the purchase and actually being able to afford it - which I cannot
Re: General discussion chat A 20 year old driving a turbo Subie will make a lot of insurance companies drool. Sticking with shitwagons for the next few years would be a good call.
Re: General discussion chat Precisely. I can buy the car. However I cannot insure it or tax it. They aren't too nice from the maintenance point of view and actually the thing that was my main limiting factor before the previous 3, they are damn thirsty on fuel. Actually I probably do have the funds for tax and switching of insurance from my car to Scooby doo. But those are funds I need for other stuff, more important stuff, like bills. Got rest of my life for nicer cars.
