Been playing Beam a bit again over the past few weeks and decided to pick this mod back up. I've now pretty much redone it from scratch while incorporating various bits of feedback - like the engine-side sounds drowned out by exhausts, clashing harmonics on the Covet engines, and so on. Since it's over a year old now I also spent some time updating the .jbeams to their latest versions as there were various issues like the Drag Moonhawk missing its blower and the ETK I-Series missing its engine meshes. Here's my changelog so far: Spoiler: Changelog Code: - Rebalanced audio of many cars to more consistent levels - Altered engine/exhaust mixing of many cars so that engine-side sounds aren't drowned out too much - Altered Autobello Stambecco existing sounds to match mix of new sounds - Added Inline 6 diesel sounds to the MD-Series and T-Series - Added new I3 sounds to Hirochi Aurata - Added new I4 sounds to Ibishu Pigeon/Wigeon 1300cc engine - Added new racing V8 sounds to SP Dunekicker - Added new racing V8 sounds to SP Rockbasher - Added new sounds to all Soliad Landsdale and Wendover engines - Added new sounds to upgraded Gavril Grand Marshall exhausts - Complete overhaul of ETK I-Series sounds + support updated I-Series - Complete overhaul of Hirochi SBR models from scratch + support updated SBR - Complete overhaul of Civetta Bolide sounds for all engines with better sources and cleaner EQ - Complete overhaul of Ibishu Covet sounds for all engines including MR variants, no more clashing harmonics on certain engines - Complete overhaul of all Cherrier Vivace engines - Complete overhaul of ETK shared 4.4 V8 engine And some preview vids: I would say I'm about 95% there now and just need to give it another polishing pass and decide whether/how to support a few lore-friendly mods.
TheAdmiester jumpscare lol In all seriousness though, welcome back! Everything looks good so far. Hope you're doing well this time of year!
Very nice to hear that this mod gets an update. I've been using it for a long time now and always found it to be the best sounding engine sound overhaul. However for some time now I've noticed some sounds not working properly anymore... at least one, the Gavril Diesel V8 on the D-Series, Roamer and the like. There seems to be a mismatch in frequency between the engine and exhaust sounds. I don't know if it's a problem with this mod per se or a conflict with other mods I have installed. But since I didn't see the Diesel V8 mentioned in the changelog, I wanted to mention it. Hope you're doing well!
Pretty much every single engine has been gone over and redone, I should probably have included the pitch/harmonics stuff in the first line as I was also checking that on each car I went over. The Diesel V8's engine-side audio has been redone so that it now harmonises and has a nicer crackle to it that complements the exhaust. Funnily enough I was working on the shared Bluebuck and Barstow engines last night and noticed that when the exhaust was no longer drowning out the engine, you could hear the same clash happening there. I think it's mainly down to one of the games I used as a source not quite being the same RPM pitch base as the others, so whenever I set up a sound, I have to use either both the engine and exhaust from that game, or neither, rather than mixing and matching. I've recorded another batch of preview videos for those Gavril V8s, the new V6s for the Pessima and shared Wendover + Lansdale, and the Covet's MR Turbo variant. I'm showing the rally version here which has a fairly special idle - dictated by the rally exhaust - but the roadgoing versions use the same sound, just with a more sedate idle.
this is amazing bro your sound mods is one of the best out there I've been using this for the past 8 months and I've been enjoying all of the vehicle engine sounds I'm really glad to see you are back at it working again keep up the good work its amazing
Easily one of the best sound mods out there. I have looked at some PAID sound mods and they do not even come close to the fidelity and quality, seriously a game changer. Great work!! Cant wait for the update!
Decided to give the modern Bruckell V6 a bit more love by redoing the NA sound, then adding separate setups with more raspy exhausts depending on the presence of the supercharger or the turbo's exhaust manifold.
It took me a while to realize that TheAdmiester on the BeamNG forums is the same TheAdmiester making sound mods for Grand Theft Auto V and Assetto Corsa. Go figure Anyways, these engine sounds for vanilla vehicles are really nice; they are better than the vanilla samples currently in-game. Especially since work has resumed not too long ago, allowing me to keep an eye out for more future progress. Keep up the great work
