1.0 RELEASED - DOWNLOAD IN THIS POST Greetings everyone! This wheelpack is a collaboration between me and the creators of @kyushavault on instagram. We decided that we wanna spread the love for old, and obscure/rare Japanese wheels with a mod, and here we go, this is the thread for it. As per the request of the co-authors, this mod does not have lore-friendly branding, supported by the fact that we want to keep the accuracy of the designs aswell. All the wheels are made from scratch by me, using as much references as we can find for these things, hopefully keeping them faithful to the originals. The wheel list so far: (20/20!) RELEASED !! Updates may come in the future Will this be paid? No. This will be a fully free mod. Do we take request for wheels? Not for this mod, sadly. We have a lot of wheels still we wanna create still. Are more wheels like these to be expected? If we can finish this mod smoothly and without much issue, more wheels are on the table indeed. Thanks for reading!
The RA-1s have been put ingame! Here are some of the depth, color, and barrel combinations. Decided to add both chrome and matte silver barrel options for these, will ponder if I should do this for other rims too. 15x12j small cap option
Next up: AC Courréges ACB! This wheel had three version IRL, accented pink-blue, red-blue or grey, on a white base. All which are included, along with a raw finish and colorable versions. Despite being a one piece cast design, I'll still include depth options for customizability's sake, along with wider-then-offered options. Options: 13x5, 5.5, 7 | 14x5.5 to 9.
Thank you! We love em too. Silkroads won't be in the initial 20 rims, but knowing kyushavault, they are likely to be in a future expansion. The wheel list will mostly be dish type and star type stuff, with a few oddballs. Including the next rim, another Courréges piece.
Next up: AC Courréges ACG Also an iconic and unusual design, as expected from the designers at Courréges. Options: 13x5, 5.5, 7 | 14x5.5 to 9.
Thank you <3 Those are very cool wheels, but if I make em it'll be outside and after this pack. Next up: River Side Super Rivers. One of my favourite wheels of all time. I'm really not sure why, but I like directional stuff to begin with. Very tricky, but satisfying to model. Looks great with big offsets.
The next rim in the list is a popular one Hayashi Techno Phantom Suitable for many types of builds, with the usual wide sizing up to 12j in 14 and 15 --- I also made some stretched versions of the vanilla Sport and Race tyres for 14x9, and added 14x12 tires. (last 3 screens). These will either be in this pack, or a seperate one, as there is no proper vanilla 14x9 or 12 stretched tires, same with 15.
The next addition to the pack are Hayashi Techno Project TRVs! It's a natural continuation after the Phantoms, as these timeless bad boys have a ton of potential aswell. These will be available in "13 and "14 inch, 7j - 12j. The factory centercap option is in the works. Photos 1-2 portray the "14 rim in the standard Gold finish, and a 'brushed' barrel look, with a slight 10% inset Photos 3-4 have a special offset version equipped: FF. This brings the wheels out instead of in, for FF cars of course. It's the "13x9 version, the barrel has a 'dull' finish, and the wheel is set to be Colorable via Paint slot 3. You can also control the Metallic and Roughness of the paint when set to Colorable, and can give it a flatter, painted look like in the pics, or alternatively, a chrome, metallic flake look. These barrel finish options will be universally available for similiar rims in the pack. In other news, I created some worn variants of the Super Rivers, as it seemed fitting for the wheel:
After a lot of fixes to existing wheels and such, I've also created some new ones. Pasco-Fame Bilbo - 4H and 5H A bit more of an obscure wheel, though certainly good looking, and fitting for many types of builds. I put quite a bit of effort into the materials and normals, I think they turned out very well again with this wheel. The last screenshot is a collective of the last few "bundle" of wheels. Some more obscure stuff coming soon!
I left beam for a couple months, coming back and seeing this makes me very happy. I adore little old japanese wheels and have even been a follower of kyusha vault for a long while now so I'm very excited to see where this goes
By the way, do you guys plan to add corresponding liveries for Japanese cars like Covet or Pessima in the game, just like this one?
Very glad to hear this honestly, here's hoping you can play with it by February! (or March, we'll see lol) This is a pretty good idea, actually, and now I have a lot more ideas for other wheels too, along AC stuff. That Zenith looks proper. Liveries shouldn't be hard to add so yea, I'll consider it definitely.
I have many wheels in mind, and the kyushavault guys do too. I think Silkroads are the most likely, and perhaps others from their collections. The next wheels in-line are August Japan Feroce Big Man-s, specifically the 'original' version. Only 6-lug wheels in this pack and they look proper on some of Beam's rides. Will come in "15, with Blue, Red, Black and of course Colorable finishes. Barrel options included aswell (Chrome, Brushed, Dull). A feature these wheels will have are toggle-able "fake" center hubs, since the real wheels have that huge center bore to slot onto the hub IRL. Beam does not have this modeled for it's 6-lug hub so I'll be adding one to the wheel to complete the look. I'm considering this for all wheels at this point, actually.
I've quicky advanced with the list, adding the same wheels, but smaller. Feroce Big Man Jr., the 4 lug version. These are insanely rare IRL and never have been sold used. Regardless, some catalog listings could help me recreate it in the flesh (or rather, raster). "14 sizing.
Yet another unusual addition, some incredibly simple yet funky wheels going by the name Thinker-1, by the very obscure Honda specialty shop "Motor Life Systems" (Thanks to TripledSevens for this information.) These wheels are an outlier in the pack, featuring much less options then the rest of the wheels, being just a disc design. These won't be missing color options tho, as you can choose the usual paintable option with Paint Slot 3, and even a shiny chrome finish. In addition, you can choose the wheel's colored area too, coloring just the star cap in the middle or alternatively, an inverted version. Sizing is a modest "14-"15, 6j-8j
