TOP thank you very much, any idea or how, can we add more differente rally loop? I love to try also in different SS. Can be done from ourselfe?
yes you can use the editor to crate rally stages and loops. there is a tutorial for making stages on the same channel.. it was also posted in this thread some time ago
As a co-driver i must say it's very good . It's very accurate to real life. Also i would love to see more FIA Rally Signs .
Only now I found time to try out the new loop mode and its awesome! Ben playing rallys sim and games for a very long time and nono of them gave me such an insight in to how really rally works. However I immediately noticed one big thing that is missing. Its traffic and cops. I think its the point of a rally lope that you have to drive safely among the traffic and sometimes when the car is damaged that can be difficult to do, also speed limits should be shown, but should only be enforced if there is police around.
in the wrc speed limits are actually checked by the rally organizers, i believe from gps, so there is no police involved there. but yes it says traffic is not available yet, so it probably will come in a future update...
I think it actually has fuel, but the engine is off. Just start the engine, and the fuel gauge should go up.
It can get a little bit messy, like "desyncing" the path + timing for the corners/notification icons. to not show at all, show too much in the future, or to be somewhat stable. Just wish it could be a little more stable driving with arrow keys, without having to remove most to nearly all steering through assist for some cars. No way to "clean" the car, if parts get stuck, and maybe have more recover options. some small terrain differences + terrain objects can nuke you, vs having a bit more "soft collision" in some areas (if one wanting more arcade or sim-like option). also wondering if older rally mods or any other gamemode specific mods get outdated quickly?
I also want to mention pacenotes like onto gravel/tarmac, bad camber, x tightens into y (Right now pacenotes just say tightens without how much), opens->tightens etc. I feel like currently there's not enough detail in the pacenotes to reliably use them at higher speeds.
I am really impressed to find you added a rally mode after coming back to the game after 3 years. I've started playing collin mcrae 2.0 when I was 7 y.o and loved every part of it. But not a single one had a realistic damage system. Even the "realistic" mode of most rally games are still practically invencible cars. I hope you keep building this mode because there is tons of potential. Hell yeah!!
Placing in another suggestion - I'd love to see a hardcore mode where a player can't reset their car. The mode would be the Dark Souls of BeamNG rally.
Hello! This should be possible already -- in the overall game settings, under Gameplay, there is a Rally section, where you can set the Reset Budget. If you set it to zero, your timecard will have a special NGRC logo on it to show you're in hardcore mode
It's challenging for me to drive with arrow keys, but I don't practice very much. Some people on our team can get comparable times with keyboard & gamepad! Since we are unable to repair individual parts on the vehicle, my solution was to offer a "reset budget" -- a limited number of resets you have to plan around in the rally loop. It's an attempt to find a balance between realism and the limits of the game. The goal is to incentivize a risk-management approach to driving stages, just like real-life. With the upcoming release, we're trying to get rally mode in a more stable state so there is less risk of mods breaking.
Yes that's right, no vehicles should start with an empty fuel tank. Starting with the engine off is maybe a little bit of a hardcore and confusing default
Shout-out to SPittlebug for all your hard work in the BeamNG+Rally community and making these tutorials!
You can create your own rally loops, but it is not documented yet. If you want to make one I can provide guidance. SPittlebug has also made custom loops.
Awesome to hear you have spent some good time with the NGRC rally! A lot more calls are coming in the next release. And some changes that should make it easier to create your own compositor/voicepack. Yes, the timing of our pacenotes need improvement
Thanks for the feedback... for regular stages, the vehicle is "frozen" until the countdown ends, as opposed to automatically holding brake. I will check out what's going on here! thanks
