Asking for money is such a sensitive topic, but as a person who tried to make several mods myself, I must admit that it’s rather difficult and very time-consuming. In my honest opinion, if the overall quality and the Jbeam are on the better side, it shouldn’t be a problem to ask for money. However, I also think there should’ve been a lite version for everyone to enjoy. This mod looks good, and I might try it out in the future!
ror doesn't have any lua integration, it uses angelscript (which is similar to c++) and the ability to add scripts to vehicles only got added recently iirc
I really think paying mods isn't anything new and it shouldn't be taboo (I don't really pay for mods and I'm not a fan of doing it, not botlicking). This has been seen for YEARS in the flight sim and car sim community and recently thanks to assetto corsa CSP, in patreon, with people subscribing to get access to content, with the ability to sustain payment in exchange for immediate updates. Sometimes modders dedicate as much time and effort as legitimate devs and I see nothing wrong with their time and effort being rewarded. We can thank Bethesda for putting a black mark on the topic trying to shove it into the general market while trying to scam everyone, when if you ask me I think its something that should be more accepted.
what?? --- Post updated --- I've already bought it before I'm just checking if i need to email him asking for the bike ;-;
The balancing logic is based on public program, used in public mod "DH Custom Sport Bike". The models are ripped from public free sources. If this mod needs months to develop, we know his skill.
due to i have assist some livery for Tony ( doing for free ), tbh the mod engine sound really bad ( not like a real 2 stroke bike should have). btw the livery is not complete finished, here are new one. > New Helmets,Suit,Boots,Tyre,Exhaust Textures
(sorry for bump) what the fork happend here???? i was boutta send this dude an email to then seeing all ts. ima js delete my sent draft at this point after seeing this cuz i need to see more info
1. all of his mod are paid 2. he's using other people's model i have to said i know u guys are being mad on this, even kene are making free mods. but im pretty sure he spent a lot of time on editing lua and jbeam.
where is the free model from sketchfab i just emailed him about the velomobil and i saw this is there any link or proof just asking (edit: if it is sorry for bump)
On TonyCartony's mod threads, he adds a "Credits" section on where he got his free models from. (This picture I'm showing is in the SuperGP mod thread, not Velomobil)
I never touched these threads for obvious reasons. Today I did because I'm silly I guess, the dogpiling was satisfying, these sort of modders don't belong in the community. To me, it's not even the paid mods themselves (I buy several) it's the higher price / shameless behavior / direct email downloads / literally never made a free mod / and didn't this man outright try to add DRM to his mods once??? Yeah, would be a win for the community if he just stopped.
I would politely disagree. It's better to get new mods than not to have them available. Especially mods from bikes category which is magnitudes more rare. There are lots of cars and maps but like 3-5 people in the world who make bikes. Buying is optional and people are not forced to buy it. A one time purchase price of 4 euros is not big especially considering other mods easily go for 12, 15 or 30 euros per month on patreon.
Yea but I’ve emailed him twice soooo… how am I supposed to buy it if he won’t respond, if I have to I’ll email one more time but like. Why can’t he put them on gumroad or kofi, I’m still interested with buying it
Look, I’m not against people making motorcycle/bicycle mods. But charging 4 euros? Think about it. I could buy a more cheaper BeamNG mod from LucasBE or LJ74.
cuz the platform would take fee from them --- Post updated --- 4 euro is fine, main premise is that model are making from scratch. But yeah, im pretty sure this model is from milestone (check the TXT name and disk mesh).
