How can I look through everything changed/added in the update? Want to comb the files for anything interesting

Yo whys the van not mentioned in the release notes? Was it added by mistake?

Noticed it too, there's slots for it, so some modder might be able to add them, also it's a bummer that they're not colorable.
Also, according to the game it has a MacP strut, I doubt that tho.

Edit: So I might have an actual theory about the van, it is likely that the devs test out their concepts and 3d models on simplified traffic models (things which don't necessarily use proper physics), the Robovan might be:

A. Cut/Unfinished content for a new map.
B. Maybe some Chinese self-driving delivery software companies are interested in BeamNG.Tech and this was meant to be a vehicle exclusively used for Self-Driving Systems. //Though this one is unlikely considering the jokes on the front of the van.
C. A new electric van that also comes in a self-driving config.
Or D.istraction from something else that has changed bts.

Has anyone had the van spawn in when using simplified traffic? I drove for probably half an hour and didn’t see it

 

Yes. Doest matter how long you drive, it only spawns in one set of cars at the start

 

Some guy on reddit was confused what those things were while playing on WCUSA, which counts as a "North America" region. I have... like 2 AI cars so I doubt I'll ever see a self-driving van.

All of the sudden they have to go and appease the damn Chinese just because it is currently the first day of Chinese New Year. Always funny devs, keep it up.

Because the developers said on the BliliBili that there is easter egg in this update, players need to find it themselves, So they certainly won't directly write the updated content on it.

 

Why did they add it though? I know its not just for Chinese new year. Plus it has the China spawn tag

Am I the only one who thinks this thing was really rushed? It doesn’t even have turn signals. And the lights dont even break. Also in the parts selector its just called “Van” (For reference normally with the simplified traffic its the full name of the car, like “Gavril Grand Marshal”) And theres dead slots in the files. And its the only traffic car that doesn’t spawn parked. And in the vehicle selector all the configs have the same name.

 

It’s definitely missing turn signals, probably and oversight. It shouldn’t be parked, though. It would either be making deliveries, or at its distribution center, to be fair. Reference video, according to Stenyak on Reddit. (And a bonus edit someone made)

WELL at this point, Growing up with aussie cars ( Falcons ) and owning a mazda 3 BP sedan, The chinese cars are getting better and better, even good! MY dad owns a GWM ORA, and its lovely,

SO hell yes if we get a Chinese car, all the EV's in beam, feel like yesterdays stuff ( witch is a good thing, as all eras of cars should be in beam, 1920s-now and even driverless as much as i hate them )


BUT something like a tesla but from a chinese brand? Remember what the devs said, they are working on a new car for 2026 and it will be like nothing else, lots of work,
It may be the last updates mine truck but i doubt it, The Denza ( we get LOTS of china stuff here, And we get the 4x4 denza. But not the sedan yet ) We do get BYD sedan tho, anyway the back gives me lincoln vibes .


The GWM ORA is to basic for the next car, its just a Torsion beam rear end, FWD EV hatch with a lovely Dash and lots of leg room, Seems to be slapped together well, NOT bad for $35.990 AUD in 2024 ( jan 2024 )

However the BYD autto 1 ( seagul ) is even cheaper here now, I think they going for like $ 24,000


BUT i think next car should like OVER the top modern, with all he gadgets, As much as its not for me, i would use it and enjoy it inbeam!

Mind you, IRL am more into XF falcon and anything pre 1990, BIG full size v8s ( or i6 ) Land yachts,

BUT yeah, i hope also for a map from china 100% WE do need a new map i think, but time will tell,

I can forget the moonhawk 4 door for now, if we get ths new ev IF and i mean IF we get one,

Or the 4 door moonhawk ( if we get that at all ) now and the EV later.

I like the design of ORA very much. Its designer used to work in Porsche, so it has lovely round headlights.

 

soon enough they will add mind controls and oil that makes the cars gay.
