Update Speculation thread

I wonder if this new vehicle is the concept vehicle that they wanted to release by mid-2026 (probably not)

 

The sketch remind me the Audi RSQ from I, Robot.

Or the Mercedes-benz Biome

 

Mid-2026 is actually a pretty good estimate for when this could release honestly. We got our first concept art of the Scintilla back in January of 2022 and it released in June of that same year, so we can sort of use that to make a rough assumption of a timeframe. The big difference is that this seems to be in a much earlier stage of the concept phase than the first teaser for the Scintilla (that I could find, at least) so my best guess would be the fall update if not the summer update. It's also possible that we could see it release as part of a large winter update along with a new map that I am speculating we get assuming the "new map every four years" theory applies.

Or maybe my brain is fried by pattern recognition and over-analysis.

 

I think they're much further along in development, tbh. I haven't played the game as long as some of y'all. But every teased car since the BX remaster has been released in the subsequent update. I think we'll see the full release next month

 

This thing looks so sleek and stylish. I wonder what they meant by "Something ink-redible is sprouting"? Is the ink just because this is a drawing? It looks digitally done, not ink and paper? I can't think of another possible meaning for the Ink reference though. Sprouting seems like it's probably just referencing that this is happening in the springtime, but could possibly be a hint at eco friendliness? It looks like it's a two door. Too impractical to be something low end. The robovan patch kinda implies this might be a chinese EV, though it would be nice if this were an Autobello or a Burnside.

 

Do i like EV super cars no, BUT do i love this one yes! Anything the devs make is art,!

And while i would love a 4 door moonhawk or a all new classic car ( again ) or 1950s-1980s Rolls royce inspired car,

Odd how the April updates often are smaller, this looks to be massive ( all new car ) Unless this is a super dooper early teaser?

 

The sketch reminds me of those Mercedes concept cars.

 

I don't think it will be some crazy concept car when in the game, my guess is it will look a bit Lotus Emira-ish

 

Something tells me that it might be a concept car, some sort of modern supercar, or electric car

 

The headlights look like the vivace to me. Maybe cherrier?

 

Sometimes it happens but it's generally due to unexpected issues and the update usually has other content anyway

 

Hmmm. The sketches of the new car are intriguing to say the least!
I'm gonna be down-to-earth, though, and not say it's gonna be a concept car, nor a hybrid car. I'm gonna say it's gonna be a new, modern, small, light, mid-engined, RWD-only, 2-seater sports car. This kind of car is needed in BeamNG due to the driving virtues its IRL counterparts (such as the Alpine A110, the Lotus Emira, the Alfa Romeo 4C and the Porsche 718) exhibit. Plus, there are plenty of modern small turbocharged engines to back it up: Cherrier's 1.6/2.0 I4s and 2.5 I5, Hirochi's 2.0/2.5 F4s and ETK's 2.0/3.0 I4s/I6s!
Just imagine caning this car on a nice switchback or a race track and giving a Bastion Battlehawk Redtail or an 856 ttSport+ or a Kc8 ttSport (with the otherwise amazing screaming 4.4 NA V8) or a Vivace S 410Q Arsenic a real run for their money (and their lives too, due to its laser-sharp driving dynamics)!

 

Concept cars usually have exaggerated proportions for style while production models tend to be "toned down", i think we might see something similar here.

That said, I don't think it's gonna be a crossover, unless they wanna put 24 inch wheels on it or something

The car looks to be somewhat short, it gives me Aston Martin Vantage vibes, though as others have said we already have the SBR and K-Series in that niche so i don't see why the devs would go in this direction, a larger grand tourer sounds more plausible perhaps?

 

Or a small mid-engined sports car, which neither of the BeamNG cars you mentioned is!

 

IDK why the thought of a mid-engine layout never crossed my mind, i took another look at the sketches and it makes total sense

 

If anything, the rear end of the sketch vehicle has some 981 Boxster/Cayman elements to it!

 

The top one does, though the middle one has a much higher rear, the bottom ones instead have a Aston-esque ducktail (possibly the reason i saw a Vantage in them) so they might have been experimenting with different styles to see which one looked better

...or an attempt to send us off track?

 

Roof/beltline is very similar, as is the ductail rear. I'm gonna guess front engine, but could easily be mid engine as well. Lotus Emira also fits the bill

 

You're correct, the ducktail does give some current AM Vantage vibes.
Yep, it's still very early in its development. Just remember the first teaser with the first sketch of the Scintilla, which showed its rear end (January 18th 2022, IIRC). It looked markedly different from the end product. And even if that first sketch was closer to the Performance Rear Fascia than the Standard one, the Performance one, with the carbon fiber side winglets on its tire-exposing rear fenders, the stable rear wing (with the Lamborghini ALA-inspired duct) and the more intense-looking diffuser with the vertical exhaust tips and the reverse light between them, still ended up being simpler and better looking than that first sketch, which was way overdone.

Of course, this all may still be something totally different from what the new vehicle is gonna end up being. It remains to be seen.

 

Reminds me a bit of an i8 tbh. First thing that came to mind when I saw it.
