That's super common where I'm at. Trucks and SUVs make up about 50% of traffic. If one tailgates, I've learned to wait for a stretch of road where they can safely pass. Then I'll coast with hazards on. Most of the time they'll pass before you even drop 10 mph.
People now feel safe in big trucks and now they are getting bigger and bigger lol in till a pickup can drive over car, lol
look what i found! there was a little doodle of some super dark color over the teaser silhouette that was just barely lighter than the car. this thread is where i got the image: https://www.beamng.com/threads/development-media.24313/page-11#post-1917462
I'll suggest that the update will be released between March 19th and 26th during the Steam Spring Sale. --- Post updated ---
I haven't seen anything about it so I would assume it's not particularly likely, but I would love to see the older derby configs brought more in line with the standards of the more recent ones. The LeGran, newer Pessima, Wendover, and Lansdale all have great demolition derby configs. Logical bumpers, fuel cells, halo cages, bolted hoods, welded doors, et cetera, they're great. Love them. Problem is, lots of cars that make sense for demolition derbys in the game don't have that. Instead, they've got weird tubular brush guards and nothing else. This is a problem the Moonhawk, Burnside Special, Barstow, Bluebuck, Grand Marshal, Roamer, D-Series, H-Series, Covet, Miramar, and old Pessima all suffer from. The BX-Series is a partial sufferer from this as well, it lacks proper bumpers, a bolted hood, and the welded doors, but does have the fuel cell, halo cage, and window bars. The Grand Marshal in particular lacking these things is especially egregious, as this is probably the most stereotypical type of car for demolition derbies in the game and they had the perfect opportunity to add this stuff to it when making the limo derby config but instead they just threw together a parts bin special. I had a ton of hope that we'd see this soon after the MD-Series bus came out debuting spray painted tires in it's derby configs, but it's looking like I may have been wrong to get my hopes up. Edit: I would also like to point out the I-Series and Sunburst lack derby configs entirely. Regarding the I-Series, if it's a cheap enough and common enough car that a gambler config makes sense, then a derby config would also make sense. Regarding the Sunburst, while it would have been considered a new car when it first debuted in BeamNG it is now an old enough car that a derby config would make sense as the oldest examples would now be 17 years old (if we're going off the in-game listed production run of 2009-2014).
It’s possible, but I believe this update will release early April to say the least (March 30th-31st maybe?).
love ur vids dude. also i have a feeling the new car is gonna have either a 4 cyl or a v6 with a new engine sound.
I think it's because the derby AI isn't very refined at the moment, so more proper derby configs will probably come with better derby AI. At least, I hope. I doubt we'll be seeing a V6 in this car - V6s aren't very common in European compact cars, especially in the 2020s. The RCZ didn't get more than a four-cylinder, and the TT had a VR6 as its largest engine until 2010. We'll likely be getting the same engine options as in the FCV - but I wouldn't be mad with getting a five-cylinder FWD sports coupe. Sounds like a lotta fun. Yeah, that sounds reasonably early. The devs haven't released a major update before 29 March (0.22, 2021) since the 0.5.x era, which was ten years ago. I'm gonna be a bit pessimistic and say we'll be getting this around the third week of April (14th-15th).
everyone is focusing on the new car rightfully so, what about the maps? is Italy getting more love or west coast ? Maybe even a new map, but we havent gotten a teaser for that yet.
That's probably because a majority of those cars aren't set up for demo derbies, but instead set up for dirt racing. It's the reason why there's a massive dirt figure-8 on Derby Arenas, and there's smaller dirt tracks at Hirochi Raceway and the Belasco Motorsports Park. I do agree though, I would love to see more derby-focused configurations for cars like the Grand Marshal and Roamer.
I'll take halogens over ugly LED anyday, nothing beats the good old yellow glow! Also, Beamng's vehicle light system could use a rework. Even they though they look really nice now and the fading system is the cherry on top, I still have nitpicks about things like the atrocious dimness and that weird glow that appears around the light about a second after you turn them on. If you don't understand, try turning high beams on while lows are already on. Weird transition, huh?
