WIP Beta released Automation Operation Offroad W.I.P

    This mod expands ATT with new driving routes, hillclimbs, and full off-road sections built into the unused spaces. If you’ve ever looked at the map and thought “hey, that should be a road,”—well, now it is (allegedly).

    I’ve always loved the aesthetic of ATT, but I’ve found it a little lacking on the off-road side. Yeah, there’s a decent hill climb road, plus that short “rally” course in the woods with some crawling mixed in, but with so much unused space, I figured, why not just do it myself?

    Here's what It includes

    Mountain Crawling Zone

    The center of this update. The entire mountaintop has been rebuilt into a proper crawling playground, complete with rock shelves, snow runoff, meltwater pockets, and just of 2km of diverse, hyper-detailed trails

    Now features six dedicated crawling routes, with two in each flavor of difficulty

    • Easy - 0.8km (FWD? AWD? Your mom’s sedan? Yeah, these are just cabin access roads lol.)
    • Medium - 0.6km (You’ll want ground-clearance or some skill unless you enjoy pain.)
    • Hard - 0.7km (4WD locked, diffs locked, hold onto your teeth, and beer probably.)

      All routes are interconnected, with shorter connector trails and scenic cut-throughs between.
    1 short hill-climb route on the opposite side of the basegame climb.
    Short, fast, tightly built, and about as close as you’ll get to official-quality point-to-point racing here.

    1 large medium speed rally loop running through the woods and hills.
    A harder, more technical step up from the existing low-speed rallyX course—lots of twists, elevation changes, and no “this is obviously an access road” filler.

    (Still evolving, rockwork comes later, but fully drivable and fun.)

    Installation / Known Issue

    download is free, and will always be free, but I’m leaving the mod on my patreon until I release the finished version of the mod on the repo.

    Since this mod just adds content to the existing map, you only need to install it like any other mod then load the map normally. However, I noticed Beam caches the terrain color file, and doesn’t override it properly unless you delete the terrainMaterialCache (see screenshot below). You’ll need to clear that file when loading/unloading the mod if you'd like trail color to update correctly. (this is only really a problem if you fly far enough away from the trails to unload them.

    (this is technically my first map mod, if you can call it that considering its just an expansion to ATT. Please feel free to tell me all the beginner mistakes I'm making lol.)

    Thanks for the kind words! I just checked yours out and it’s really cool too, I’ll definitely be taking some inspiration from it if you don’t mind.


    And funny enough, I only realized after I finished up this version that of course someone else probably had the same idea already. I just wanted to do this project for fun, so checking slipped my mind. Total coincidence we just ended up thinking along the same lines, but credit where it’s due.

    Take as much inspiration as you want, I don't care

    There's nothing wrong with having a similar idea either, and I can tell that this is a lot better than anything I made or could of made at the time or even could make right now.

    Update v23 with 1 new area. One short trail, and a full on crawling loop, its not super difficult, but I've never made a crawling course before so I didn't want to go too hard.

    Besides this, I've done some minor touch-ups to other areas.

    Update v30 - Mountain Crawling Overhaul
    Its been a little while but I'm back with another update to expand the crawling section, this time with a few new trails perilously high above the dam's reservoir.

    Patch notes:
    - 3 new crawling trails spanning a bit over a kilometer.

    THIS WAS WAY MORE WORK THAN IT LOOKS. great results though.

    - full overhaul to the existing mountain top area.

    Fixed/added a ton of rock-work, added more polish, and sprinkled a handful of water elements throughout the existing trails.

    - Hairpin runoff / connector road for the rally course

    (I kept missing this corner, plus I needed a connector here. win-win.)

    - First work on unifying the hillclimbs into one big loop. Added small connector road.

    (it's not a great spot, but unfortunately it was the best (only) spot.)

    - this one base-game bridge I guess.

    - that's it...

    I mean I did kinda spend like 60 hours finishing the mountain trails, that was like a lot a lot. looks oh-so good though. worth.

    hello..

    downloaded this file from your ko-fi and it doesnt show on the map list and hence unable to play it please provide me a fix thanks :)

    It replaces the regular Automation Test track, Just load into the map thats always there.

    Its update time again!
    I'm getting ready to launch update v40 but for now I've got some news:

    I've moved the mod download off of ko-fi, and to patreon, which I think will end up being a bit better experience overall. The mod is still completely FREE, and I've also pushed a small patch to fix some of the bloom issues which you can find here: AutomationOO v36 [FREE]

    As well as that I've also published a blog post going over a bunch of the stuff I've been working on for version 40. There's also an experimental download if you wanna check out the changes early. You can find that blog here: AutomationOO v40e Early-Access

    Amazing expansion, Love how the track blends in with the rest of the map while still being a fun challenge and not only is it fun gameplay wise but the screenshot potential it has is amazing, only issue with it would be to have some indication on which tracks are which besides the trail map photo.
