What resolution are you playing at, and check if you are on a power save mode.

    press CTRL+F

in the top left corner of the box that pops up should be your fps

now press J (leaving the fps box open)

if your fps go's straight to 60, then your cpu is the problem (which is the most likely culprit of all your specs, due to AMD FX cpu's having absolutley HORRIBLE single threaded performance)

if it stay's the same, then for some reason your gpu isn't working as it should (as the gtx 750ti should have no problem running beamng)

No its not, it should easily be able to run this game. A GTX 550 should be able to run it never mind...

I have a friend with an FX 4300, it struggled with the physics quite badly.

I did that and it went straight to 60fps then when i started to drive around around it bounced around having horrible lag spikes and then going right back to V-sync then hovering around 30-50. I can play far-cry 4 at full settings but i can barely play this game at low. i dont know what to do.

That's your CPU. You could overclock it (other members here would be more help than me in this regard) or get a CPU with a better IPC. Overclocking would probably be the better option.

i did OC the cpu. it was stock at 3.8ghz turbo about 4.3ghz. now it is 4.5ghz turbo 4.7ghz. also i have overclocked the crap out of my gpu about 300 over on the core clock and about 230 on the ram.

Strange, at those clocks it should be good. Is the CPU hitting thermal limits and throttling? The VRMs? The Northbridge even?

Also, XMP caused problems in my AMD build. Try turning your RAM back down to stock non-XMP speeds?

My cpu on full load in prime95 hits 53 Celsius and the ram is at stock speed of 1333mhz. but on my motherboard ive heard that the northbridge gets a little hot so one day i decided to feel it and it burned me!! i have not yet found a way to cool it down. ive looked at nb coolers but the ones ive found would get in the way of my heatsink or gpu but this is the only game that my computer cant play mabye it just dosent like my computer.

I run a gtx750ti, it is capable of playing everything on medium to high settings and 1080p or less. The FX series was a bit of a flop (my older AMD 635 outperformed a FX6300 in BeamNG :/)

HD 4000 is crap. I do not believe you are getting 60 fps on lowest on a plain grid unless you have the game running at 600*400 or something.

    wait what?

i know intel gpu's are bad, but they aren't THAT bad, my HD 2500 get's 60 fps on plain grid at 1024*768, so an HD 4000 should easily be able to get 60 fps at say, 720p on plain grid

unless you meant an AMD HD 4000, in which case i have no idea

not you, 6677 and i just now were talking about someone else who asked about their gpu in your thread

your gpu should handle beamng just fine at medium 1080p

based on what you said about fps jumping to 60 after pressing "J", your cpu is the bottleneck, really all you can do is overclock or upgrade to an intel cpu (which would require a new motherboard as well)
