Hello, here you can suggest stuff and report issues.

 

Does it have custom sound?

 

Diesel engine sound is different and turbo sound changes depending on if you have DPF on/off and straight pipe changes the sound even more, gasoline is the same but with straight pipe it also changes

 

I think if you put all the stuff you made for ETK 800 into one pack it would be epic

I must preface that I am by no means an expert in transmission design and that all the information that I've found is available on the internet. The addition of a gear indicator in drive is a nice addition, and the shift logic feels pretty good for the petrol 3.0L 8-speed. However, the base game gear ratios and minimum gear for the converter lockup for the petrol 8-speed automatic are accurate to the real-life ZF 8HP45 and don't require changing. Also, I'd suggest reducing "gearChangeTime" from 0.3 to 0.2 to reflect the 8HP's official shift time.

 

I started with the real life gear ratios for ZF8HP and torque converter lockup but couldn't tune it right. Gears were spaced out strange from each other and there were situations where rpms were too low or rpm needle looked jerky so little by little i landed on a hybrid variant of real life ZF, my beamng modding knowledge limit and my taste/feel of how things should happen. It even uses older style lockup logic where 1st and 2nd gear and below 2000 rpm on all gears it's never 100% locked up which is totally wrong on paper but looks alright when driving. Also i tried improving the shift points curve in the lua but it's still not perfect. So you can treat it like the most optimal solution for now and not a 1:1 copy of a ZF 8 transmission. I will reduce the shift time in the next update.

Yes, just downloading the normal way is enough. I removed the version from the disscussion

 

For the nerds - mod update will drop soon with heavily expanded and improved lua controller and a lot of parameters will be exposed for tuning. Basically 6 and 8 speed autos will be 90% like real life. Here are the things you can expect.

 

This update is taking longer than anticipated because right when im about to finish my brain gives birth to another idea.
Currently working on a custom launch control feature that will be available on 8 speed transmissions. It will send notification messages in the game UI as well as in the gauge cluster, also it will be adaptive for every different ETK 800 you might be driving. It will be able to learn the most optimal way to launch based on the grip level of your car which is achieved through a learning procedure.
