there is this individual part repair mod here https://www.beamng.com/resources/individual-part-repair-menu.35878/ it works with part prices, but maybe it could somehow be implemented at service parks and instead of cash we could use time limits and penalties... that would be awesome!
Will there ever be crowds in the rally mod? In parts you can’t crash into, like at the starting line?
I'm curious what they need to do to make the keyboard experience more fun? as I find it too sensitive at higher speed with most settings, else one is ruining the turning and accel, then again I do have a little more sensitive keyboard too (activation/holding time for input). and the reset budget I dont have anything against (maybe it did feel bad in some areas, forgot, have to play again). about reset, I mean like small parts (mesh or other) that will get stuck in your vehicle that can have major effects on steering and/or speed. and with most collisions being "hard impact", like for example the wheels can often break on the smallest thing that it wouldn't do irl, except in some situations. but I would assume this would be a hard area to make a change, be it type of walls/edges, soft surfaces, other "collision types" or a "transitional collision/force surface" (soft to hard?) and whatever else that could make the game feel a bit smoother to play. Not fully sure if you mean stable rally for mods or in general? but I guess I did had nothing to do with rally mods on, and some rally maps, but that might impact the default rally maps.
It would mainly be awesome for roleplay rather than actual gameplay. Would be good for some videos or roleplaying on upcoming official multiplayer like Media Zone. The Passage Control Sign - a rubber ink stamp pictogram on yellow and red circle, (It's used on very long liasons to control if the crews go along the roadbook.) Begin of service area - wrench pictogram on blue circle (self explanatory) Tyre marking/checking zone - tyre pictogram on blue circle and end of the area with three black stripes going through. Begin of refuel zone - gas pump pictogram on blue circle Warning sign - exclamation mark on red circle - it means that a place after that sign is dangerous. Begin of media zone - microphone pictogram on blue circle - Indicates areas where crews stop for TV and radio interviews, usually located right after a STOP control. Could also add a sign with chevron for directions, it's often on intersections and often it is falling down due to overshooting junctions . Also the orange arrow signs for me are a little to small and are hard to see. And maybe add a little more advanced signs for example: A warning sign example (Couldn't find it in any FIA regulations but i saw it in few countries. Chevron sign example: Chicane sign (I saw it few times on some rallyes. Don't know the exact usage as these sometimes appear and sometimes not before chicanes: And for some decorations for example: - no go area signs for spectators - Road closure sign Sponsor board signs example: A gate: There are also Lap stages. That drivers have one or more laps to go. So there could be an indication sign with arrows which laps are going where. for example lap 1,2 arrow right, and lap 3 goes left towards finnish or the rest of stage. I can't think of more signs I know it's a lot but it's things that could add a lot to the realism and immersion
I just want to say that this mode is amazing! I made an account just to comment this! The rally loop mode is just incredible, and I really hope it gets expanded!!
Hey Rally Fans, Now that 0.39 is out, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who has tried Rally Mode, posted in this thread, and supported our efforts. Our special corner of the game has received many updates in this release (see Release Notes). As always, please feel free to post feedback and suggestions in this thread. If there are breaking changes for mods, or ways of doing things that have changed, we can identify them and help sort them out. Overall, creating new stages should be easier, more stable, and more rewarding for the time and effort, but as with any big changes, there may be issues to address. Somewhere in between the game's vanilla pacenotes and full-on modding lies simply editing pacenotes to your liking. Hopefully this can become part of what makes the BeamNG rally experience unique, but since it is new we'll need folks to try it out and give feedback and ideas. Special thanks to Alex Kihurani for helping us out with the new Pro Pacenotes! Thanks again! dirtwheel & the rally mode team
I created this account today specifically to thank the dev team for everything in version 0.39 I can’t describe it perfectly, but I don’t know what exactly you did with the handling because driving on both asphalt and gravel is pure joy now. I’m having way more fun in "RallyNG" than playing games like for example ACR. Also, amazing job with the co-driver, it feels more natural now while driving. I thoroughly enjoyed completing stages that used to put me off before. The new Rally Loop and more details added to other rally stages, it's awesome! Huge thanks once again for all your team's hard work in making it evolve in this direction
There is traffic on the liaisons!!! Sweet, painstakingly slow traffic on the narrow roads of Utah! That's so great! Also, love the pacenotes of Alex Kihurani!
Consider making the process of switching vehicles before the rally stage more intuitive. Shouldn't have to approach the rally from Free Roam and make sure a setting is toggled before starting the stage to make sure we can actually play with our own vehicle. Also if I hold the throttle while loading in a rally stage (after coming to a stop and it loads the next part), my throttle can be stuck 'on' in the next section. That said, I think y'all are doing a great job with Rally, and the new Utah loop a lot of fun. Love a good gravel rally stage. Getting a real professional, too, is really icing on the cake. Well done. Keep it going Edit: I swear when I run into traffic, they'll chase me down and ram me. I cannot replicate it in free roam. Is this a liaison-specific feature?
In freeroam too, there is a feature where when you hit someone they have a small chance to have road rage and hit you back, i guess it's the same in liaisons
I was wondering if it would be possible (doable) to implement a service area between special stages in Rally Loop. For example, in a 5-stage event, adding a service area between stages 3 and 4 where players can fix their cars at the cost of time (or money, credits, whatever), as is typical in rally games. Also I need help. I'm trying to learn how to make Rally Stage in the World Editor. I have the driveline from race.race, but the Rally Editor doesn't calculate the distance. After loading the mission, the props appear and the rally HUD elements are shown, but there is no route length, countdown, or checkpoints. In Rally Editor>Driveline Editor it displays Race Distance: no start/finish position found
Could rally loops be randomised in some way to improve replay ability ? Having all the stages available on a map in a random order could be quite fun. Additionally, could the stages from the Utah loop be available as single stages?
Thanks for the reply and the advice, I'll try it right now. BTW, did you make 'Rally Loop Forest' or something like that? Your nickname rings a bell. If so, thanks for a few hours of frustration and fun at the same time Edit: Wow, thanks, it works! Also, I was missing SS_stop_control at the end
Tried the Utah loop again, but started chose the 5:00 starting time. What a great experience to start in the dark and watch the sunrise while driving to the first stage! @SPittlebug , I guess the new lighting can do wonders to your NEFR map as well?! Haven't tried it with 0.39 yet. I guess it needs some updates first? @dirtwheel , your pacenotes are great, as well! I think I have said it already, but this whole Rally Loop feature is SO COOL! Most players in games like Dirt, AC Rallye, RBR just treat every stage like a time trial: full risk, and if you crash, just start again. But this Rally Loop is different. We cannot (and don't want to) simulate the risk of a real rally to your body and your money. But you have to risk your time, which is nearly as precious. So please, keep it that way. Don't shorten the liasons, or make them skippable! That being said, maybe it would be possible to spice the liasons up, by adding police? Current speed limit is 120 kph, but this is higher than the actual limit of the streets (as indicated by the signs). So if a police car sees you driving 120 kph on a street where only 60 is allowed, they will chase you down. You should have the option to stop (and loose a couple of minutes, maybe), or run and try to lose the cops before the next stage.
@PacManiac yes i have already update the foliage so it is playable, but at the moment the pacenotes do not work, i will post another update asap.. totally agree with that! @LSM88 new england forest rally. you are welcome
