Hello BeamNG community and welcome to my thread, WIP Willow Springs (as American as it sounds). Today I will be showcasing multiple things. Firstly, I will begin with the island itself. Do not worry, my dear Blender version 4.0 project has not been abandoned. It is simply waiting patiently backstage like a dramatic actor preparing for its big entrance. That will be showcased later. However, before we begin, we need to talk about something everyone must know. Yes, this is the serious section. It only hurts a little. What You Need To Know: Warning! No one is allowed to use the assets that come from my island without prior permission. That includes the Sidewalks, the custom made Buildings, the Asphalt Crossing Approach, the At Grade Railroad Crossing Equipment, and even the Trees. Exception: The only trees that are allowed for use are the trees made by the BeamNG team. Those are not mine. However, any trees created by me, including the ones I am about to add SOON, are not allowed to be used without permission. Yes, I am being protective of my trees. They deserve it. They worked very hard to grow. And please do not judge my work with critiques based on no knowledge and uncertainty along with a pair of overly scrutinous eyes. If your feedback requires zooming in 400 percent and gasping dramatically, it may not be necessary. Please note that this work may be subject to change. Whatever descriptions you observe down below might or might not reflect exactly what is in the island project. Things move, ideas shift, and sometimes entire sections change because I thought about them for too long. This content is safe even for a toddler so reader discretion advised. Yes, this sentence still does not make sense, but it is staying. It has earned its place. If you see the word YET, that is my mindset. I am not there yet. But I will get there. Eventually. That word is basically carrying the entire project on its back. And now that you have passed the warning section, and possibly questioned your life choices, we will now continue and discuss the beautiful topic of a new island. This project was meant to match my mod, WLD BeamNut Addons. This addon, in case you do not know, adds a new skin called “Willow Springs Regional Transit”, or WSRT for short. You will hear me say WSRT quite a lot. At some point, it will feel like a normal word. Now, where was I. Oh yes. My island is not taking direct requests right now, so please give suggestions or wishes only. If you request something very complex for modeling, just know that I am not an expert modeler yet. I am working on it. Slowly but surely. If you ask for something extremely advanced, I might just stare at the request in silence for a few minutes. I have developed somewhat of a Blvd, or Boulevard. I should probably avoid shorthand forms because not everyone knows what they mean. It still needs that median in the middle. Right now it is doing its best, but it is not quite there yet. I have also adjusted and moved several contraptions along the roadway in order to maintain the momentum of realism and preserve a more natural and believable environment You can check the pictures down below for reference. Videos might be added soon. I might even create a website to host this progress. Actually, forget I even said that. That idea belongs to future me, and future me is already tired. Anyways, let us get back on point. I added the first train station, which is named Woodmont Station. This is a very important name, so try to remember it. There might be a test. There is no test, but act like there is one. You might have guessed that these tracks belong to WSRT. If you did, then you are correct. Planned: These tracks start at Highland Station and run northwest towards Northfield, where they make a stop at Hillcrest Station. Then they continue southeast from Hillcrest Station towards Easton where they make the first stop at Woodmont Station. After that well deserved break, they continue their route towards Southbrook. Before the tracks reach Southbrook, the two rails split direction and go on separate paths. One heads west towards Woodcrest Station in Westfield, and the other heads towards Southgate Station in Southbrook. Phew. That was quite a long explanation. Writing this took longer than expected, which is impressive considering I built half of this map already. But the story is not over yet. Soon enough, there will be more updates, more progress, and probably more unexpected changes. For now, enjoy what you see and take it in. Even small progress can feel like a big step. hey, id suggest renaming it to maybe willow springs county, as many people would see this and immediatley think of willow springs raceway
Hmm, I'm not sure if this is actually meant to be a county. It's meant to be its own fictional country, mimicking the United States. Perhaps it's allegedly owned by the United States. Just one of the islands offshore.

What are you asking me? Are you insulting me? I hope not. If you feel threatened by my quest and endeavor to receive buildings, then I would remove that part. But the part saying assets shall NOT be used, it is here to stay. I also clearly stated: "No one is allowed to use the assets that come from my island without prior permission." Did you see, "...without prior permission"? That, in simple terms means a person should ask before using any of it. Do you get it? In fact, I think I will turn this map into a rural area, and much less urban. My job is not frustrate others. So do not get frustrated.

Note that they're licensed under a Creative Commons license which means that you can't stop other would-be mapmakers from reusing those assets in their own maps, if that's an issue for you. You can only forbid the reuse of models you make yourself, or models you get others to make for you, as long as the creator is fine with limiting the use to your map only. Ya, I will forbid usage with out permit only for my models I made with my time and effort. The other creative commons license models shall just remain as they are. And, thank you for addressing the matter in a kind and respectful manner. I knew I hade forgotten something, but not really what. Thank you for reminding me. its weird to ask for other peoples assets for free, and then gatekeep your own assets... like either make everything yourself/buy it and gatekeep it, or make it all open-source... you cannot have it both ways.

The sidewalks, the custom made Buildings, the Asphalt Crossing Approach, and the At Grade Railroad Crossing Equipment used on my island are made by me, not by anyone else. Do you have a problem with my restrictions? And again, how did your eyes miss: "...without prior permission." Does that mean to you, "No one is allowed to use the assets that come from my island, at all", really? I just need to be asked and notified of the usage of my materials. Remember, I cannot please everyone. --- Post updated --- Also, will have to make most of the assets myself because sourcing it from other places might not guarantee the realism I am looking for.
