I am sure the more modern headlights will reach further, this is a Bluebuck from the 60s with the equivalent of two candles behind glass.
Actually I think the lights may be illuminating props further ahead. It is a tad difficult to tell with the streetlights. I'd love to see a dark shot.
Obviously still a work in progress, but what they've accomplished so far is impressive and nice to see. It really does get the proper feeling of night driving: It's really dark at night, and the only reason it isn't is because of all the artificial light from cities/streetlights. I live in a big city, so I'm just so used to seeing everything at night, but when I was on a ship, man, it's just pitch black out there. Hope they're able to get the glow from indoor lights, and I'm curious about what kind of starry nights we can expect, too. EDIT: This is a good representation of night driving. Obviously, you have major light pollution inside a big city like Tokyo, but it's still very dark on the quieter roads on the outskirts. CarKiller talked about how they now have a wide range of light values, so I think they'll be able to accomplish a lot with bright streetlights, softer, less bright interior lights, maybe a soft glow from the moon, and so on.
If you think the state names are funny, just wait till you come across some of the town names, like sheboygan or missoula. Also hell exists, it's in michigan...nice place actually
One thing I think is nice about BeamNG updates is the fact that we've gotten a minimum of one new vehicle every year. It makes putting it in a list like this really satisfying: 2012 - Gavril D-Series 2012 - Gavril Grand Marshal 2012 - Ibishu Covet 2013 - Civetta Bolide 2013 - Gavril H-Series 2013 - Bruckell Moonhawk 2014 - Ibishu Pigeon 2014 - Gavril T-Series 2014 - Hirochi Sunburst 2015 - Gavril Roamer 2015 - Ibishu BX-Series 2015 - Ibishu Pessima (1996) 2015 - Hirochi SBR4 2015 - Gavril Barstow 2015 - Ibishu Pessima (1988) 2015 - Burnside Special 2016 - ETK 800-Series 2016 - Ibishu Miramar 2016 - ETK K-Series 2016 - ETK I-Series 2016 - Bruckell LeGran 2017 - Ibishu Hopper 2018 - Wentward DT40L 2018 - Autobello Piccolina 2019 - Gavril Bluebuck 2020 - Cherrier FCV 2021 - Soliad Wendover 2021 - Ibishu Wigeon 2021 - Bruckell Bastion 2022 - Civetta Scintilla 2022 - Autobello Stambecco 2022 - FPU Wydra 2022 - SP Dunekicker 2022 - SP Rockbasher 2023 - Soliad Lansdale 2023 - Hirochi Aurata 2024 - Gavril MD-Series 2024 - Bruckell Nine 2025 - Hirochi HT-55 2025 - Hirochi WL-40 2026 - Cherrier My theroy for why we're getting a new vehicle for 0.39, is because it might be the only update we're getting this year, and the devs wanted to continue the trend. (Thank you devs )
I think they really are getting close if they tease this much, more so after a week after the video showing what we get, plus its winter ( summer in USA and germany ) June.july is very possible Something new is on the horizon!
It's extremely likely we're both getting the new vehicle in 0.39. It's the only major piece of vehicular content that's been teased, and we've had at least one piece of vehicle content pretty much every update for the past 10 years. We're also most likely getting a Christmas update this year - we've had at least one Christmas update every year for the past 10 years. It's been the only update cycle the devs have never missed since 2015, and it's consistently been the most profitable update cycle. Three of the five most popular updates (0.38 (1), 0.27 (2), and 0.31 (4)) released in the winter, and the winter updates have had the largest average increases every time for the past four years.
my thoughts exactly, it'd be extremely unlike them to skip a Christmas/winter update after so long. Even though this seems to be a large update, I wouldn't be suprised if they made the winter update (likely 0.40) a bit of a continuation of 0.39 if they needed content for it. I will say that we are due for a new map at some point here, it's nearly been 4 years since we got Johnson Valley, and we seem to get new maps every 2-4 years in more recent years.
I dunno - I think with all the work that WCA got in the past four years since 0.26, we're probably a year or two away from a new map. Stenyak said that they had made a test oval map and stock cars for drafting and multiplayer testing. In the post, he said that "no, this does not mean we're adding such map/cars :-D" (I don't know if he means that they'll never add an oval track, or they just don't plan to at the moment.) I don't know why that's the case - I feel like having a large oval track in the game would be neat for those who enjoy that sort of motorsport.
If the devs ever add an oval track, I feel like it's way more likely that they'll add it as a part of another map. (Like WCUSA or Hirochi Raceway) I feel like we're at the point to where maps need to be more than just a track. In my opinion, I think we could use more non-US maps in the game. As much as I love a good US map, they literally make up 9/12 of the real world maps. --- Post updated --- Well that's good to know. I wonder if the devs will add a new vehicle in 0.40 too. The winter updates are usually supposed to be a bit bigger, so I wonder what they'll cook up.
