Maybe i am reading this wrong but, Last time i checked 5.1 audio had more than two channels.

Marketing at its finest. Maybe sony can try and sell me an audiophile sd card to go with it...

My Q6600 PC is running at nearly 50*C at idle. Not good. And it's got new thermal paste.

Guess it's time to shove every spare fan I've got into the crappy generic case... Maybe removing the front panel will improve airflow?

    speaking of socket 775 cpu's

i have an old HP compaq elite 8000 ultra-slim desktop (think mac mini, but a bit bigger, but smaller then those SFF desktops like you'd expect to find at a workplace or school) that last i tried (before power cable broke, i can buy a replacement easily enough) refused to boot, would restart the moment it finished POST

video of which is above (ignore siblings, white box that appears on screen after first post and right before second post is the monitor going into sleep mode, old video from 2013)

going to try re-installing windows at first, otherwise i'm thinking HDD died, anyone else have any idea's? as i'd like to get this working for my siblings to use (cpu wise, beats the shit out of my siblings laptop (C2D E8400) gpu wise? not so much, but they end up so cpu bottlenecked that most games will run better on the HP anyway(gpu is the GMA 4500 i believe))

I put the exhaust fan as an intake on the side, air goes right into the CPU cooler. Also added a front intake fan, there's no fan slot but I removed two 5.25" drive bay covers and taped it in there. Probably way too high up, but it's better than no intake at all.
    Still idling at 50*C.

I should probably add an exhaust fan, the PSU fan is doing all the exhaust work right now. I have another spare fan, but it has no connectors. I can use it though.

How did you repaste it? Did you forget to plug anything back in? (I'm guilty of forgetting to plug a laptop fan cable back in a couple times.) Maybe you didn't but the heatsink on right.

I played beamng today and my pc runs it at 11 fps on all low settings on gridmap.
Not even in real time either.

Heatsink is put on properly, I repasted it with Cooler Master's paste (leftover from my 212 evo).
Now I put the front fan in the back for exhaust and temps are down to 40-45*C at idle. Yey.
I guess that's as good as it gets with a stock Intel cooler in a crappy case.

Where do you live? I am thinking I should swap my video card. I can sell you mine cheaply, it has less than a month on it. ATI R7 Radeon 265 256-bit 2GDDR, I like it.

BeamNG should run in mid-high settings just fine. My 270 gets 40-50 FPS on most maps (except east coast) on high settings.

The HP laptop is dead. Can't revive it. Halfway through tearing it down. ;)

Care or not, I wish you luck. Pulling laptops to pieces can be a piece of work. Hope your class got out the way okay.

Dead board? Don't tear it down completely. Remove the HDD, RAM, anything you might use, and see if you eventually get a new board for it.

Got a CD stuck in a sideways CD drive, had to take the drive apart. Interesting looking one it is. It's all good now :)

I've got a stupid question here, but I'm curious.

I have a Lenovo G50 - would it be possible to connect it to my main PC and use the laptop screen as a second monitor?
