ig this could give someone some ideas, so here's my lore for the Ibishu Kiwi. 1969: The small Japanese carmaker Satsuma was about to release their new car, the 1000 worldwide. However, they were concerned about the US market. Their previous imports hadn't sold or been advertised well, as they didn't have the funds for a dealer network in the US. At the same time, Ibishu is coming off the moderate success of the Miramar in the US and are looking for a replacement, althrough it was still being sold as the lightly changed Miramar Z510 (see Vintage Parts Pack) and would be until 1973, sales were dropping. Then, they saw the new Satsuma. After some negotiations with Satsuma, it was agreed to rebadge it into the Ibishu Kiwi for the US market. Satsuma would be bought out by Ibishu in 1977, but continue to use the Satsuma name on their current models until some time later. TLDR, the Satsuma is the Kiwi in the US. Only market where the Kiwi was sold, no USDM Satsumas exist. (in my universe) EDIT: also it wouldn't sound different (WHY DO THE KIWIS SOUND DIFFERENT) and very early models (first shipments to US) still had Satsuma on the valve cover.
how i initially did the Kiwi was it was the same car just a different timeline but i plan to work on it more over time after i finish some stuff with my main expansion --- Post updated --- preview of the early sedan models descriptions
i decided to bring back the LX but i did it in a better way that i actually like more. the jdm configs were refined a bit more and i replaced the GL-L i had put in with the LX ( there is quite a few unused parts i have but its what ever, more customization ig ) at the time of writing this i have completed the EUDM lineup. here is the early GT coupe
im hoping the cherry badge is just a placeholder? it's really boring if the car just ends up becoming a badgeslap
...Oh. I guess I'll make my own JDM configs then, I think the car would be named the same as in Europe
it was originally done this way but it wasn't called the 100-120 A in japan so what i did makes sense
bugster, could we get a spreadsheet or just an explanation of the new trims? I find it very confusing what is above and below what
ive been needing to do that but i can do a simplified rundown AMP: standard ( base model ) ACP: standard ( base model ) ( coupe only ) ( Export only ) DX: deluxe ( baseline optioned version ) ( in the united states market this was also a base model ) GL: grand luxe ( midrange optioned version ) LX: luxury ( top of the line optioned version ) GT: sport ( sport version) Vanette: van ( needs no explanation ) i know the JDM ones have a standard version which is pretty much a poverty spec base model that has no trim badge. just called the cherry but the config is called standard which i may add a badge for that later? for now it just has the name of the car as in real life the DX/deluxe apparently was the actual base model until later when the standard version was introduced based on my research when making a lot of these names based on different markets: japan: cherry EU: 1000 Series United states: 100 series bonus for the ibishu lore version: DX: standard model LX: luxury model GTZ: sport model GTS: top of the line sport model ( japan exclusive )
two new grilles are coming to the expansion and also for the kiwi as well obviously my friend Kwon is making the one in the right image and the left one i just did which he might remake that one in a better way --- Post updated --- late us model bumpers got a redesign as well
Hello, i want to ask why i cannot fit turbo, i change to manifold to turbo one, but the game not showing on powergraph turbo or tacho NVM I FOUND IT SORRY, good mod!
I've just realised you've taken out the aussie configs. Why? Furthermore, why is the expansion now separated from the original Satsuma mod? --- Post updated --- Just thought of this, is 'E10' the platform?
yes, and it's rather lazy. instead of making a lorefriendly name, bugster ripped off the actual gen 1 Cherry's platform name E10
Don't be too harsh, mate. --- Post updated --- Would be nice, but not everyone knows that. --- Post updated --- The nugget I wish I had. (Named 'Rotten Lime', made my own AUDM model )
i had to make it standalone due to major issues it had and had no better way to possibly do it. and the AUDM configs i plan to bring back but in a better lineup i just haven't had time to do that yet currently working on a mini pack with extra configs ( also includes msc based ones ) along with real life versions but of course under the same satsuma branding just made to be more accurate plus as a bonus adding 100-120A badging etc but keeping the fictional brand --- Post updated --- hard to see but the X-1 mod in msc uses the cherry name and the X-1 badge name as well i had talked to multiple people about the idea and they seemed to like the idea of using the cherry name for the JDM model's the satsuma AMP is heavily based on the real life cherry/100A E10 so i decided to call it the E10 ingame but the actual name's are on the configs due to the fact it has 3 different market names still the same car but it was also to reduce confusion between the expansion version and the original
Ik the Satsuma is based on the 100A (duh), and that the X-1 name is used by that mod, but I thought this was meant to blend into the Beamverse more I presume I was wrong
