I don't want to be a critic, but to be honest the Smart Car is just ugly and is also a deathtrap. I wouldn't want this in here
Actually they’re surprisingly safe. But if I were to pick one cute lil compact, it would be the Scion IQ

They actually aren't too much of a death trap. Fifth gear did a test of a Smart with it crashing headon into a concrete barricade at 70 mph and it wasn't that terrible. These are the records of the 2017 Smart Fortwo from the IIHS.
They are pretty good cars as far as I have heard. Just don't do well in north america due to the markup in price.
I test drove a 2nd gen Fortwo a while back, and I'd say it's like a 'sporty' golf cart, not exactly go-kart handling, but it doesn't feel like a deathtrap either. Obviously people calling it that because they always pit it against something twice its size, but as already pointed out it fairs decently due to how it's constructed, and the engineers behind the car itself weren't that dumb. But to answer the question, the idea had been started by a couple people a few times, but it never caught on/it was merely a half-assed attempt that faded after a couple days. Either way, a Fortwo or an iQ even would be nice.
