In what kind of world GTA is a racing sim? Arcade driving game's physics are way behind real simulation driving games, seems logic because it isn't what arcade game's developers are searching for.
I have a lot to say so please read this whole post. I did some research on when BeamNG will release. Adding the devs post from the Chinese forums pushes that deadline from this month to next month and from late summer to autumn, with the PS6 release in winter, at the beginning of January. Also, mind the text; I do not type well. Also, when I asked if there would be any big competitors, I was asking if those games would have taken away their consumers because the number of people who have viewed any of these videos is crazy. Look for yourself and tell me I am wrong. There are millions of people on YouTube subscribed to these channels dedicated to Beam NG, and I don't know how many of you reading this who play Beam NG watch the YouTube shorts that are so bad, but behind those videos are the people, who are craving the game and wanting it, that game, when they find that it requires a really expensive PC setup, 1000 dolars. which is just too expensive for them. But some of them, they hear of this great and wonderful game, finally announced to be on a console they already have, very soon, compared to the 1000 dolar pc they can not have. So expect there to be competition when thousands hear the bells of the game, ringing out for them to play. I would expect there to be thousands, getting out of Gran Turismo and Gran Theft Auto and all of those other games, and getting BeamNG when they hear those bells. I expect this to happen because if a PS6 comes out in the fall of this year (ask an AI with that screenshot from back in the posts), there will be people wanting to spend some money on games and lots of other stuff, and they will get that grand and glorious game, BeamNG. So that's all I have to say. Sorry I didn't respond earlier.
They can’t release PS5 that late. GTA6 hype will overshadow any other game for November to January. Also they wouldn’t be teasing if the update was that late. My guess if July 25th - August 10th.
I'm also waiting for a feature since a lot of updates, the ability to invert X / Y axis for the orbital camera. This annoys me so much since other camera modes and mods don't have this same behavior.
So I feel the need to comment and address some of the concerns and worries I have about the upcoming port and would definitely love for some of the concerns to be quashed! I have been playing this game since 2016, And logged over 4,600 hours through the years. I have watched and experienced this game evolve from a niche physics engine game, to sandbox masterpiece that embarrasses Triple A racing simulator games. The core of that success was the dedicated rapid update cycle, and a dedicated fan base that continues to develop free mods to this day. NOW FOR MY CONCERNS AND WORRIES: The developers have completely frozen its traditional quarterly update routine leaving PC players to wait almost a year without any major content drops so they can rewrite the engine to port to PlayStation. It feels like a greedy cash grab, while neglecting the fanbase that made this thing possible. I think the only reason the game has done so well for so long was the constant updates and dedicated development team. The future port will slow down all future updates as it has to be approve by PlayStation. It just seems like a cash grab and a step in the wrong direction. I love this game and the development team I genuinely hope that Im proven wrong and that possibly some of my concerns can be quashed.
The reason for the delay is not solely because they ported the game to console. They're overhauling so many aspects of their engine/graphics, and you think that isn't time-consuming? Have you just chosen to ignore all the developer updates from the past couple of months? How is improving the game and giving so many players what they've been asking for neglecting the fanbase? And how is expanding into another market considered greedy? Where are the salaries of all the devs supposed to come from, your thank you's and admiration? Get a grip. Minecraft is on console and it's fine. The game will continue to be developed, and the console and PC versions won't be identical, but you'll be ok, brother. I promise, just breathe.
IF I notice the devs pulling extremely greedy stuff I will speak up about it but rn I havent noticed anything at all. theyre just kind of optimizing and retrofitting things to fit into a better package and that takes A LOT of time. theyre not a GIANT company or corp...they cant just throw money at it and fix things overnight. every line of code has to be written perfectly or very stupid things can happen. one minute your running in first person the next your FLUNG INTO INF speed into the skybox if the devs were sloppy with code. platforms like this are very fragile to cutting corners and neglect. the new cars name should say it all theyre dumping their heart into this game/ physics engine/ sandbox driving sim. for US. all of us to enjoy. lets all step back and appreciate that and not take that fact for granted --- Post updated --- dynamic physics are extremely hard to compute. it can be very tricky. not impossible. just extremely tricky
And that is kind of my point! I don't see how they can maintain the same update schedules, pretty much every development company that does Cross Platform has to sit and wait for the Playstation and xbox todo testing and approve it. I just have doubts that what has made this game great for over a decade now can be maintained. And what other reason than money would they port it to console? --- Post updated --- "And sit down and breath" lol. Bro I was just voicing concerns. then you literally turned and validated alot of my concerns. Please actually read all of what I posted. My concerns are not unfounded as we have watched plenty of other games start slowing down development and quality to make a console port happen. I have supported the Developers for a decade now. I think its smart to keep an open mind and not just jump straight to defense. The main reason for the massive overhaul IS for the console port, so YES they have slowed updates while working on it. And I do believe its because its a small team, but the constant quarterly updates are one of the main reason the game has remained popular since 2013. I am not making accusations Im making concerns that I hope can be addressed. I get it takes time, but when its taking content away from the game just to get a bigger player base, even though it is alread immensely successful. Since 2013 the company has grossed estimated $130-$190 million on steam alone. Its not like they are doing it for survival of the company, its to make more money thats what I say it feels a little greedy. I love this game and the development team, I mean I rank 125 in the world for Beamng play time (via steamladder) I would hate to see the quality suffer in the pursuit of profits. Other companies have shown that it can be done wrong time and time again.
The PS5 port is not for profit? It’s supposed to let more people access the game since some of them can’t afford a PC and like @hacker420, bring it to a wider audience. I myself believe it’s a great decision to let BeamNG be more accessible and not be simply PC-exclusive.
@james118529 You supported the devs by paying $20 10 years ago, and you want to act like you're a shareholder. You still haven't gotten your money's worth? Your "estimate" has a $60 million variance, and you act as if you know their finances. I'm NOT implying anything about the company's financial health, but it doesn't matter what you think they grossed. Steam takes a cut. The government takes a cut. Rent needs to get paid. Salaries need to be paid out, hopefully for years to come, unless you want the developers you claim to "support" to be job-hunting later on down the road. I can read; I don't think you read my post, cause they're literally giving players what they asked for (graphics, skybox, night, streetlights, aero, optimization, multiplayer, etc.) Better yet, I should have saved myself the time and just said: it doesn't matter that you don't like the game is being ported to the PS5...because it is being ported to the PS5, and it's a done deal.
dynamic physics are extremely hard to compute. it can be very tricky. not impossible And the game is fun. Like. I was CACKLING hysterically today. The ht55 vs pigeons playing tag. Thats fun --- Post updated --- Also james GOT ROASTED ALIVE.
Before saying anything, check the price of a kit of 16x2GB DDR5 6000CL30 RAM, RTX 5080-5090 then you check the requirement of this games. Ah yes, greed! Frickin greed when deny optimization. I may hate consoles but then console-ported games is some kind of best optimization we have. That's greed! Not a greed when they try to renovate graphics and things beside when not require a thousands dollar 5080-ish as "playable" Cannot believe that's greed when you unanimously ignore what and how the price of PC parts currently. What a hypocrites. Try to tell dev about breaking update streak when ignoring the abyssmic situation of AAA crunching culture. Ok they would done it in 3 month, but good luck getting 30fps 1080p with DLSS on. Brain here and wallet isn't infinite, no one have constant 3000$ only for PC upgrade and replacement each 2-3 years. They have other to paid. Housing, electricity, food. Shoot, even water. Cannot believe a player could acting like a shareholder, and BAD shareholder. Wording is exactly what a shareholder would say. Even i can trust this idiot might written these while using 192GB of Ram, a 9950X3D2 and RTX 5090.
