Update Speculation thread

To think all these years I've been laughing to myself at the psychosis and the pain of the GTA community (cause Idgaf about that game), and here I am sharing this moment with you degenerates cause I decided to work late, and reached a certain point where I said...might as well stay up til the update drops.

Why are people on Discord going crazy over this update?

I will admit, that is pretty funny.

I hope we still get a Final Countdown from one of the devs here, for old times' sake. I feel like this update's marked a significant transition from the forums and Discord getting relatively equal importance to the Discord becoming the place to go for update news. Of course, that was already happening for a while, but this update had like, 85% of its teasers drop exclusively on the Discord. Thank you to all the people who made teaser compilation videos on Youtube.

Oh, believe me - this community's always been quite cuckoo. (I still remember the April Fools' Incident from before 0.9 in 2017.) It's just that this update was a special case of a long wait, huge changes, and tons of teasers (and thus, constant anticipation).

Steam release is always first - usually by about 15-30 minutes.

Oh, 100% - it's why I still regularly post here. I cannot keep up with the Beam Discord, whereas I can keep up just fine with y'all here - and I don't get laughed at for making long posts.

I can imagine how ungodly funny it has to be as one of the devs to see people go absolutely ballistic everytime you release an update, and the hours and minutes leading up to it

I would do the absolute maximum to troll the community, every single time.

 

I think I should disable all my mods rn…
