I was playing around on the island and thought that i would go for a swim. I was surprised to find that when my car sank to the bottom, everything went dark. Nothing important, but just something I noticed.

I can confirm this. At first I wondered about I can accelerate under water (bug 1) and then I wondered about the screen went black (bug2). I was not able to do anything, the only way to exit was Alt+F4 .

i can confirm this, but a bit better explamation, is that when your underwater, as is your camera, your screen becomes pretty much black, while you can just zoom the camera out, to get out of the water, you can see it fine, its actually quite annoying :(

Is the effect gradual or instant as the camera goes underwater? Does it happen on all maps?

Water has a darkening effect with depth, but it's normally quite subtle. Maybe the graphics card is handling it wrong. I noticed logoster has Intel GPU, what about others?

With some water settings it's possible to make the water look like in the screenshots above, but then it looks like a sea of oil from above.

It could also be the distortion postfx that makes a full screen wave effect when the camera is under surface. I'm not sure if there's a way to turn that off.

it depends on the map settings...im pritty sure theres a setting on the water layer to change things like depth darkening/fogging and reflection/refraction

yes, i am on an intel gpu (for now at least), but i doubt thats the problem, and no it doesnt happen gradually, its instant, all maps, yes, i have all settings on lowest (other then resolution, which is on defualt, and mesh/texture settings, which are on normal) i have postFX disabled
