Is there any way to make it so that there's a slight more delay to the camera following the steering movements? Like in No Hesi.
Thanks! i cant play no hesi in my potato pc so this would be great. --- Post updated --- You can add the delay to the configuration GUI so people can turn it on/off and set the delay.
Hello, just wanted to follow up on this. I have identified a potential performance issue that may solve your fps issue when using Enhanced Interior Camera. My PC was a bit too high spec for me to spot the issue so it looked as if there was no difference to me. With the help of someone willing to test prerelease versions on their low-spec laptop, I was able to identify that the performance problems were caused by the shaking effects. These shaking effects used perlin noise which seems to be a bit heavy on slower CPUs. To solve it, I created a LUT so that the perlin noise is precomputed when the settings change. This resulted in much better performance for that laptop. The fix is in version 2.7 which should be released today or tomorrow when BeamNG approves it.
Hi, I wanted to ask about the creator of the enhanced driver mod. My goal is to achieve a fully fixed driver camera that strictly follows the chassis’ pitch and roll without any horizon lock or world lock. Essentially, I want the camera to move exactly with the car, with no added motion effects. Because now you have in original driver view the option to lock the camera to the horizon or lock the roll and pitch to the horizon and that's both wrong it should be locked to the vehicle chassis then the world moving around you is the rerfence of motion like it should. So far, I’ve made some progress with my own modified driver.lua file. With it, I can get the camera to behave as I want—but only with my E36 mod. The problem is that it doesn’t work properly on other cars. The main advantage of this fully fixed camera in a simulation like BeamNG is a much more realistic and precise driving experience, especially for users with direct-drive steering wheels. It allows you to feel the car’s dynamics directly without artificial smoothing or exaggerated motion, which makes controlling the vehicle more accurate and immersive. Could you advise if there’s a way to achieve this fully fixed behavior across all cars, or what adjustments might be needed? Here is a video how smooth it looks on my E36 mod now before this change everthing was feeling squared now the car rotates. Link: Thanks a lot!
This mod is great especially with the last update but it would be nice if it had the ability to interact with the interior, like the base-game driver camera, thanks anyway for making such a high quality mod.
Hmm, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll have to investigate because if you can't click anything in the interior view then that is a bug. Maybe the 0.39 update broke that functionality. EDIT: Seems that all is working well in terms of interior interactivity. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your request?
Hi! This is an awesome mod. I've been using it with Opentrack head tracking and cheap webcam. Works really well. After the 0.39 update I noticed that camera jumps around a little bit every time a new traffic vehicle is spawning. It's like a little up and down movement of the camera and it only happens with traffic enabled, no matter how many cars there are. FPS stays constant, it is not affecting the performance of the game. If I change to some other camera view, there isn't any lag or jumping of the camera.
I can attest to this also happening to me. (I am not running any other camera-related mod, if that is of any help)
Interesting. I never thought to try it with traffic on when trying to reproduce this bug. So far I haven't gotten the bug to happen on my PC yet. I'll try it with traffic on soon.
Idk what this bug is or what causes it ive tried turning up and down almost every setting and the issue still persists its like the camera is re centering on its own? this might be the "jerking" your talking about on the mod page
Thanks for the video. That gives me the feeling it may be caused by low/inconsistent fps like what I'm seeing in the video. I've recently added a tumble stability feature where the camera "locks" itself onto the car interior while the car is actively flipping. My theory is that when the framerate is low or inconsistent, the tumble detection gets thrown off and overly sensitive. I did try to lock my FPS to 15 fps, but that unfortunately didn't reproduce the bug. Maybe if I spawn a crap ton of traffic I can get my CPU to cry for help I can reproduce this once I have the time to work on this again.
the lag your seeing is purely the video idk why it recorded like that it might be cause i play in 4k but i get steady 60-100fps the video just looks buns --- Post updated --- i think the dude that said it being something with traffic might be correct tho because the jerks happen alot more the faster im going and more cars that have to spawn in yk.
Yeah I'm gonna need to try it with traffic. I hadn't tested it with a lot of traffic b/c I hate the lag I get in VR and usually limit the traffic to a small number of cars. Next time I'll need to just go balls to the wall with the traffic cars and see what happens.
Another video of the jerking movement that happens when using enhanced mod camera, I used the intense mode but in all mods, including smooth the movement stays, I chose intense because its more clear that its happening
i think the dude that said it being something with traffic might be correct tho because the jerks happen alot more the faster im going and more cars that have to spawn in yk i also dont use the for now just play with no traffic. its something with the traffic cause when i turn it off the jerking stops happening
I am out of town for a couple weeks and brought my work laptop with me to try to recreate this bug. After setting the traffic to 41 cars in total (including 16 parked cars) I am still unable to recreate this bug even on a different computer. Laptop was lagging to hell I am confused Does anyone experience this bug on a brand new installation of BeamNG with only this mod installed?
This is exactly the same thing that I'm seeing. I'm pretty sure it happens every time a new vehicle is spawning to the map cos if you stop and no more new vehicles are appearing, lag goes away for a moment. It is kinda like that same effect when you reset the car in full speed and camera drops down violently when reset is happening and the speed goes suddenly to zero. But that traffic related movement is just much smaller.
When y'all get the chance please try this build of the mod. Nothing has changed except some additional log information to test if the tumble detection is the cause or not. Instructions Download the zip file and move it to %localappdata%/BeamNG/BeamNG.drive/current/mods In BeamNG's mod manager, disable your current version of the mod and enable this one. Start a level and then switch to the enhanced interior camera. Play until you experience the bug. Close the game. Send me the beamng.log file located in %localappdata%/BeamNG/BeamNG.drive/current
I tested that diagnostics version of the mod and had the same camera problem right away after spawning the traffic. I played for few minutes. You can download the log-file from this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cAnR_u8J-bD_LjqV1tuNN2SKsLR9T2wY/view?usp=sharing
