long time ago i wiped my s8 a month ago so i dont have the beamng.exe anymore i wantet to ask how i can get the .exe without pirating it because i did have a legal copy on my phone because the windows emulator doesnt work with steam but i forgot how i got it if someone could tell me it would be nice
if you own the game on steam, then just...grab the game's files (most commonly c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common, or [LETTER]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common)
nah, there's no DRM, so the .exe itself should just work. pretty sure thats how the copy on Humble works
The lighting rework looks decent EXCEPT for Gridmap. The new system makes for shadows that are way too dark on the white grid. Def needs a fix of some kind. Not sure how tho
Anyone else getting this message too? PC specs - Windows 11 - CPU AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core processor - GPU AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX - 32gb DDR5 Before 0.39, the game ran smoothly on ultra graphics, every graphic setting turned all the way up. Now, I still have all the graphics settings turned all the way up. Game runs about 5-10fps less but thats normal considering the update Recently the game kept crashing very frequently, showing the error message about restarting the game with "-gfx d3d12 breadcrumbs" which I dont know what it means I played in a lot of different scenarios, different maps, different cars, mods on, mods off, and this still happens. I dont know if this is just a AMD problem, as I read through some things talking about how AMD has many problems, but if anyone knows what to do please help me
I'm on a 9070 XT and I've been getting memory related GPU driver crashes often since 0.39 dropped so you're not alone. GPU works fine in every other game so I'm pretty sure (and hoping) it's not a hardware problem. To be fair this new version has a ton of graphical changes so it's likely some shaders or whatever might not play well with certain cards & driver combos. -gfx d3d12 breadcrumbs is probably a command line argument when lauching the game. Navigate to your game install folder, hold shift and right click in empty space, click "open powershell window here", type this and hit enter: Code: .\BeamNG.drive.exe -gfx d3d12 breadcrumbs It'll launch the game and then you can recreate the issue and get a more detailed crash report to send the devs.
Like the reply above said, first try that flag (-gfx d3d12 breadcrumbs). It basically starts the game using D3D12 with breadcrumbs enabled (so it records like small steps (breadcrumbs) and if the game crashes then it knows at what step the game crashed) and then it sends the crash report to BeamNG. Also try D3D11 (old renderer). If it doesn't crash there, then the most likely issue is D3D12 related. and lastly, try Vulkan. If even this doesn't crash, then you can try reinstalling your GPU drivers using DDU (maybe something went wrong there with D3D12 related support)
i'm normally not the person to post here, just wait normally for fixes, but i have quite a few problems now after the last update... first, when using eyefinity full screen i'm unable to move the fps slider. it 's locked on 60fps. second, the perfomance took a massive hit, gone from 60+ down to 28 ish fps. third, when crashing, my fanatec 8nm spaces sometimes, like 1 in 5 times. locks at max steering angle to the left or right, depends, at full torque. have to close down the game and restart the fanatec to dissolve this problem. fourth, the UI does not have the pause function anymore for updating components and setings. before i could adjust 50 parts and then update the car. same for the settings. now it al goes 1 by 1, a lot slower. fifth, the HUD's are not visible in different camera views, even when checking the box for letting them stay visible. there are a lot more things I don't like about the new UI and other stuff, but these are my most important things to say now. and, i know it's on a low point, but fix the triple mode please? it's has never been good yet. but, graphics seem to be a lot nicer!
iirc you can fix the 1 by 1 issue by clicking the three-bar menu and toggling the parts and tuning slider off
Dedicated ARM build would be so much less intensive as emulation takes up resources, hope the Devs eventually make an ARM64 build
Please no more graphics upgrade until they've optimized the graphics we already have. Over the time I've been playing this game I've gone from getting 100-120+ FPS on some of the sparser maps to rarely seeing the high side of 60 on any map and constantly stuttering below 20 on WCUSA. Nothing's changed about my setup, just graphics getting heavier and heavier. I genuinely think 0.38's graphics were good enough anyway; at what point do people finally admit diminishing returns instead of trying to push graphics farther?
Using the front guard on the Barstow makes a crazy light pattern, looks like my car is trying to recreate the double slit experiment or something. That's probably intended behavior and realistic but the issue is that it flickers between that pattern and ignoring the front guard casting no shadows, seemingly depending on the orientation of the car. Happens on all lighting quality settings except for lowest where headlights don't do anything at all. On DX12 using a 9070XT GPU if that matters. Here are pics of my graphic settings in case it only happens with specific settings: 1, 2 Also on the topic of headlights, I know this isn't intended behavior in vanilla (not yet at least) but it would be nice if when there's no bulb installed the headlight itself doesn't glow even if you turn on high/low beams. Right now the headlight glows but it doesn't cast any actual light when there's no bulb installed (see the left headlight from our perspective).
