Thank you for your reply to my review. What I'm trying to say is that I want to make it this big, as shown here, rather than the size in this first image.
Thank you for the follow up! I can see the issue clearly now. I’ll have it fixed in the next update. --- Post updated --- I have expanded the size range to 1000% and also added more controls over the pre/suffix. Hopefully this will be enough to cover most uses.
How did you do the second needle? And can it display instant fuel consumption? I would want to have it too! Also could you make the needle counterweight so it can be customizable same as the needle itself? I would like if the counterweight was same thickness as the needle but now the counterweight is pointer at the end. Just little tip what could be added Also Great mod I've been playing with it for a half a day now
Hey, thanks for trying out the mod! This gauge is in the Combo widget - under the Basic Cluster layout + Basic tach. Setting it to Full size gauge will show everything. It isn't available as a standalone gauge right now. I'll look into adding an option to toggle the inset gauge. But you can achieve a similar effect by using the MFD 'Off' option and disabling all the cluster warnings/indicators options. As for more customization on the needle/counter-weight itself is also actually coming; I'm experimenting with more options at the moment
Thanks I didn't even noticed that the Combo widget have it. Now I made E30ish style gauges and it even have the fuel consumption (MP4 file under) and I don't know why but the subdivisions aren't working for me they don't change. But it could be issue on my side. And could you add the rev limiter thinner line just before the actual rev limiter it's seen on my earlier post I think that will be nice to have. Thanks
That's a nice BMW cluster recreation! And yes, the subdivisions aren't working properly at the moment. The setting is being overridden by the algorithm for the gauge face. I'll make sure to get this fixed for the next update. I'll also look into the thinner pre-redline on the gauge as an additional redline option. --- Post updated --- And here's another preview of an upcoming QoL feature: an integration of Vanilla+ into one of the selectable clusters in Combo and Launch contro/Two-Step indicator and toggles (including a feature for click-to-set launch RPM directly on the Tach gauge face; similar to the click-to-set Cruise control for the speedo gauge).
I've noticed that using the MFD on the Panel layout (status icons at the top and bottom, speed on the right and map to the left) and enabling "posted speed-limit display" does not work. Would be helpful to have. EDIT: Also, when using the Panel layout, there is no change in color when switching headlights on or off, therefore it doesn't math other gauges I've setup.
i'm not sure if this has already been reported or if it's just a quirk with the way the gauges are implemented, but it seems that when the gauge is "unloaded" (like when it gets hidden in the pause ui or inside of the vehicle), it seems to briefly "forget" its information and show a default font/mode for a split second. while it isn't game-breaking, it's a very slight thing that I just noticed as I was changing camera views. it's completely alright if it's just the way the system is, but just wanted to let you know 2 separate instances
Thanks for the flag on the issue with the speed limit display; I'll get it fixed in the next update. The panel MFD currently doesn't participate in the palette system, but I do have plans to support it in the future. At the moment, the palette system only works on the LCD MFD. Good spot! And yep, this is a known issue. The work on the Vanilla+ gauge is a relatively recent addition and involves a lot of bespoke work, so the code for it is a little unoptimized; totally my bad on this. I suspect that I had the initialization ordered wrong; it should be reading the configs before drawing. The transition will look better/smoother in the future update.
Also could you add the option to turn off labels completely? I think it Would look clean without the numbers. And can you add option to make the outer ring like not completed same as on the image? And for the MFD particularly for the led strip layout it would be nice to have an option to turn off all the "buttons"(blinkers, parking brake, cruise control etc... that's under it). And also I wanted to point it out, when I have the shift point beep on and I hit the rev limiter the RPMs drop so much that it sometimes don't even beep mainly while drifting, when driving fast the RPMs don't climb as fast so it has time to beep so it would be nice if there could be some settings that lets us change the point when it starts to beep. Just some ideas for you
Sometimes after going to the menu or opening the RLS Phone, the Vanilla+ Tach sits at about 900RPM on every car, doesn't move at all, even if it's revving. Switching to a different gauge mode doesn't change it. Reloading UI doesn't help, only option is restarting game.
Thanks for the report on issue with RLS I’ll look into it. There likely are some compatibility issue.
I really enjoy this mod, especially with the 0.39 update involved... I just need to ask if there is a way to turn off the speed limit chime on the combined HUD. It's beyond annoying, and I cannot see a setting for it. Even turning off speed limit indicator does not remove the chime.
Hey! thanks for using the mod. The speed limit chime can be disabled via the Audio tab under the Global Settings for HiStakes in the Pause Menu > Mods tab > HiStakes > Audio : (It should be disabled by default)
Thank God for your response!!! I love this Tach the most, and I was prepared to keep using it w/ the chime anyway(it's that good to me). Really, I appreciate it so much! May Christ be with you my friend.
New version preview! (v0.1.5) The biggest change is a new mechanism that hooks directly into BeamNG’s vanilla minimap and gauge apps, which allows HiStakes to introduce a new Stock Replacement option. This is essentially a one-toggle, turn-key mode for anyone who wants to keep the existing vanilla BeamNG HUD layout without rebuilding it or messing with their current UI setup. Keep your vanilla tachometer, boost gauge, minimap, etc. exactly where they already are. HiStakes simply takes over their rendering and enhances them with its 60+ FPS gauges, improved minimap, and additional QoL features. The minimap itself has also received some major upgrades. The biggest addition is support for a pre-rendered tiled map background, combined with pseudo-3D road projection to give it a more modern, Google Maps-style 3D navigation look while still working within BeamNG's existing UI. The BYOF (Bring Your Own Files) feature has also been expanded to include chimes, so you can now use whatever sounds you want for the various audio warning and notification cues. And, as usual, there are a lot of smaller improvements, optimizations, and fixes included throughout this version as well. This should make HiStakes much easier to drop into an existing BeamNG UI setup without having to sacrifice the vanilla look and layout.
will this work with gauge mods (such as the enhanced tacho mod) as well? also, will this feature then remove the vanilla gauge option in the HiStakes GUI app?
The creator of the Enhanced Tacho mod is actually in the process of porting his mod over to use SDF as well. See here Nope, everything else will work the same way. This is just a new, quicker way to get started and also to ensure that you get HiStakes in other vanilla HUD modes for Races/Rally/etc. without having to tinker with your layouts.
Hi, just wanted to report a bug. As you can see in the screenshot i have status indicators, warning lights, bottom info row & Drivetrain controls + engine button off but they still display. Id like to be able to have only the LCD strip visible without the additional buttons below it.
