Controller Input Works but Can't Drive

So I plugged in a controller, and beamng showed the input test button, and I opened it, and when I pushed forward, the values changed like they should. But when I tried to drive with it, nothing happened. Is there another step in there?

 

You need to have a compatible input map for your specific controller. If you have a more common one you may be able to find an input map on the forums. If not, have a look on the wiki to make your own.

 

What controller are you using? Make sure it isn't a 3rd party one. I had one and it didn't work. But when I got an official 360 one it worked right out of the box. Make sure it is plugged in/connected before you launch the game.

 

So even though it is saying that it is getting input, I still have to have an input map? Ok then

 

Just because it gets an input doesnt mean it knows what to do with said input, how does it know that button0 is parking brake rather than shift up without an input map?
