Repository vs Non Repository Mods

Hi,

I'm curious, why are not all mods avaliable via the games repository, is there a specific reason? I can understand that some people want to charge for mods and it makes sense why they would have you use their Patreon or Discord etc but what about the free ones?

I'm using Geforce Now Cloud gaming and although its brilliant, I'm restricted to only repository mods.

 

Mostly because of repository rules, like the fact that real car brands are forbidden for legal reasons.

irl brands and models/assets from other games aren't allowed on the repo for many different legal reasons

I might also add that you can only upload about 1.2Gb here so highly custom maps are too big. Shameless plug, but both my maps are only on Gdrive because of that reason.

 

On forums it's max 488 MB, on the repo if you DM a moderator he can upload the file for you
