the Fisker Karma knockoff is there. electric enough for them.

On the topic of Testa model s: I honestly think the styling is sort of ... generic. It is not ugly, but it is generic in a way that if you slapped it onto a road in los santos it would look at place, because it just looks like a generic car a game maker would make.
The design is the most generic design i have seen in a long time.

Xbox 360 file formats for cars are .XFT and .XTD, similar to how Windows platform ones are .WFT and .WTD. I've checked and both GTA 4 and 5 on 360 use XFT/XTD, so I'm trying to grab some GTA 4 car files off of my 360 disc to see if GTA 5 accepts them with no modification. Going to attempt to replace a DLC car with it so I don't have to mess with adding my own data for it to spawn.

Well, the CR-X which it's based on is a sports car, so yeah. The Futo is also in the sports class. GTA V does have several mistakes in the car classes though. The Oracle is in the Coupe class, but is a sedan. Same for the Felon, Exemplar and Jackal.

Yet it's one of the best looking cars of this generation.

The thing with the CR-X and AE86 (Futo) being sports cars in real life is what causes the problem in GTA 5. There mustn't have been much thought put into the sports class, because I wouldn't say that the Audi R8 and a 1985 CR-X are the same class of car, yet they are in the game.

Assuming there isn't some kind of block on modding files like in GTA IV :(

Huh? Modding vehicle handling, names, etc was pretty easy.
The vehicle class should be the same than changing the name of the car.

I mean for online. I'd like to host a private modded lobby and play with friends, but I'm sure they'll put some kind of "anti-cheat" to stop you from playing MP with modded files.

GTA 4 and Max Payne 3 already had that, but it worked in a good way. If any files are detected to be different, you can only play with others who have done the same.

As for encrypted files or whatever, all the files even on the 360 version are completely open like GTA 4 PC, so I doubt it'll change for PC.

The game booted but that specific model makes it crash.

There are a ton of different things that could've caused it, so I'm trying all the fixes I know. If the problem ends up being the .XTD or .XFT files themselves being a different format, then I'm out of luck because as far as I know there isn't a program that can edit .XFT files yet.

The problem is, unlike IV's MP, in GTA online your cars are shared between private and public sessions. You wouldn't be able to have a car only for private lobbies, as it would have to be available in public lobbies as well and therefore require every player to have the mod.
A block isn't required, modding Online is not possible simply because of how it works. Client-side mods might still be possible however, but cars need to be server side. I can imagine having a client side mesh mod, but if you were to change the handling, terrible things would happen (you would have different handling characteristics for the same vehicle, which since the physics are calculated client side, would send different car positions and speeds from your client and the other player's, very likely causing some bugs). So it only makes sense to lock client side modding for that kind of thing. A system where all players must have the same files wouldn't be possible since private lobbies are connected very closely to public lobbies.

:( I don't want to change any meshes, just change the handling and damage and play with friends who have the same handling file.

Xlive.dll will do the trick for me anyway.

because GFWL is a bag of poo and won't get run under linux, had to cut it off.
Never played GTAIV multiplayer even tho i have it legally on steam, heard it is fun.

    Oh wait
    GTAV will be d3dx11 only
well i guess i won't be able to run it for a few more decades.

Dx11 is the problem here. No wine support for 11

That'll still work fine. As far as I know, GTA games on multiplayer update car positions very fast, so while it's easy for lag to happen on a limited connection, one person having a handling line while another doesn't will still work because the information is being updated quickly to keep the car right.

In your case it'll probably work even better. If they have the same handling files then the game will "know even better" how to communicate between the two and should keep the position accurate.

I know, which is why I said get Windows. The GFWL part was totally unrelated.

But if two clients are sending different positions for the same object, that will cause problems.

But if a person is driving a car, their client is sending the positions. The other clients are just receiving those positions and calculating things, it'd be a bit weird to see a passenger's computer being in charge of updating the car they're in.

New Grand Theft Auto V PC Trailer, and it looks like there won't be anymore delays!
    Enjoy the 1080p 60FPS goodness.
