ive never understood why people say minecraft is so hard to run. I ran in on lowest with a p4 2.8ghz no hyper threading 1gb ram and integrated graphics. I ran it on at least medium on a pentium d and 8400gs also. It was a long time ago though

Since they tweaked the rendering engine in beta 1.8 performance went down the toilet and it hasn't recovered since.

I meant the and/nvidia graphic card driver. On my qosmio I stuck on 295.55 and cant install 330.xx right.
On the less powerful Asus it's working easily ;)

    I would say a APU around 2.5Ghz.

    Nice bump.

"a APU around 2.5GHz" is not helpful at all. You could have a 10 year old APU that is OC'd to 2.5GHz, or a brand new flagship APU that is factory set at 2.5GHz, and there would be a massive difference between the performance of the two.

It's the same thing as "get an intel CPU". That could be a C2D or an i5-4690K. Massive difference.

If i can run it on an Intel Atom tablet any laptop with a modern A8 or I3 Should be totally fine. Just dont expect to max out the game, with lower render distances and the correct versions of java installed it works quite nicely.
