I'm starting this thread to post liveries/skins that I make for the B-25 Mitchell. Skin No. 01 The skin is based on James Doolittle's B-25 in the Dolittle Raid, serial number 40-2344 and aircraft No. 1 in the formation. While not a particularly colorful one, it is a skin so commonly replicated that there are currently over 10 aircraft painted like it. Original aircraft was a B-25B, but skin is for the J, as it's the version we currently have ingame. Get it here: Doolittle's 40-2344.zip Or here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4jz2vcovrh4xnc3/Doolittle's+40-2344.dds#39;s_40-2344.dds Skin No. 02 The 345th Bombardment Group Generic skin (Or 345th Generic, for short), meant to portray your average B-25J from the 345th Bombardment Group, A.K.A. the "Air Apaches". To be more specific, the skin in question is of the 501st Bombardment Squadron, one of the group's 4, stationed in New Guinea. (imported from here) Get it here: 345th Generic.zip Or here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/h0t2k8o066p4c60/345th+Generic.dds Skin No. 03, 04 & 05: These skins are meant to portray the PBJ-1 (Patrol Bomber of diverse uses One), the Navy version of the B-25. The skins are (left to right): -PBJ-1 Early: Meant to portray PBJ-1Cs (Navy B-25Cs) in early 1943; -PBJ-1 3-Tone: Meant to portray every variant of the PBJ-1, as all Cs, Ds, Gs, Hs and Js were painted in this scheme at some point of the war, sometime between late 1943 and early 1945; -PBJ-1 Late: Meant to portray PBJ-1Hs and Js during the year of 1945 Get it here: PBJ-1 Skinpack.zip Or here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/0yunv0vd7udlz3h/PBJ-1+Skinpack.zip Skin No. 06 The 321st Bombardment Group Generic skin, or just 321st Generic, for short. I wanted to paint the nose as well, but can't figure out where it's mapped to. Get it here: 321st Generic.zip Or here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/szoi7adp1t1bzpc/321st+Generic.zip How to install You can either: A- Open "materials.cs" with notepad and change the line diffuseMap[0] = "Livery_RAF.dds"; to diffuseMap[0] = "SkinNameHere.dds", *If you want to disable the skin, simply change the line back in the materials.cs file, as these skin does not overwrite the existing ones. B- Create a folder with the skin's name in your Skins folder, and then rename the skin to Livery_RAF.dds, so that it works with the Skin Selector
It isn't? Try clicking on the attached file. If it doesn't work, I'll upload somewhere else and give the link.
Just tested and it's working for me too. Sorry, I don't know what to tell ya. You can get it here if it's still broken for you: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ay89yn1l7g7j4bv/Doolittle%27s+40-2344.zip#39;s_40-2344.zip
You have a comma (Doolittle's), in your instructions and zip, where the .dds is "Doolittles". I removed the comma and it loaded fine. Nice work man and I hope you make more! This plane is definitely worth it.
Fixed it. Seems mediafire removes apostrophes, so I changed it to a zip file so that the DDS one is inside it and hence its name is unchanged. Thanks man, means a lot. - - - Updated - - - Currently plan on making a couple of generic skins of the 310th, 321st and the 345th Bomb Groups. If anyone has a request, feel free to ask.
New addition to the collection: The 345th Bombardment Group Generic skin (Or 345th Generic, for short), meant to portray your average B-25J from the 345th Bombardment Group, A.K.A. the "Air Apaches". To be more specific, the skin in question is of the 501st Bombardment Squadron, one of the group's 4, stationed in New Guinea. (imported from here) Line to change in the materials.cs file: from diffuseMap[0] = "Livery_RAF.dds" to diffuseMap[0] = "345th Generic.dds" To download, click here -> http://www.mediafire.com/download/h0t2k8o066p4c60/345th+Generic.dds Or here v
I don't know why, but I never really cared that much for the 17. 24 is tied with the 25 for my favorite aircraft of all time though. We might see more aircraft and they will have realistic controls, because on the setup screen there are controls for pitch, roll and yaw.
To compensate for last week's lack of a skin, this week a bring you a pack of 3! These skins are meant to portray the PBJ-1 (Patrol Bomber of diverse uses One), the Navy version of the B-25. The skins are: - PBJ-1 Early: Meant to portray PBJ-1Cs (Navy B-25Cs) in early 1943. -PBJ-1 3-Tone: Meant to portray every variant of the PBJ-1, as all Cs, Ds, Gs, Hs and Js were painted in this scheme at some point of the war, sometime between late 1943 and early 1945. -PBJ-1 Late: Meant to portray PBJ-1Hs and Js during the year of 1945. To install any of the skins above, simply open up the zip file, place the skins inside your B25Mitchell folder, open up your materials.cs and change the line from diffuseMap[0] = "Livery_RAF.dds" To either diffuseMap[0] = "PBJ-1 Early.dds"; diffuseMap[0] = "PBJ-1 3-Tone.dds"; diffuseMap[0] = "PBJ-1 Late.dds"; Depending on the skin you wanna use. You can get it here -> http://www.mediafire.com/download/0yunv0vd7udlz3h/PBJ-1+Skinpack.zip Or right here v
are these compatible with skin selector? if not could you make them so that It would be easy to choose which skin. I would do it my self but I have had no luck in doing so.
I had no luck getting the skin selector app to actually work, despite doing everything in the instructions (Skins folder inside vehicle folder, liveries going inside that folder).
dds-files in skin folder should have names of the replaced files. I.e. if you want to install PBJ-1 Early skin then you should put PBJ-1 Early.dds file in B25Mitchell\skins\PBJ-1 Early\ then rename PBJ-1 Early.dds file in Livery_RAF.dds (because PBJ-1 Early.dds should replace Livery_RAF.dds).
