searching for help on dealing with an elusive scam.

Hello, i have recently started receiving scams on Skype from various accounts all saying that they are girls that wants to have a live webcam session with me, i know this is fake because instead of just using Skype they want me to go to a website and enter my card information which spells scam if you ask me. and i also have reason to believe that its a computer sending the scams because no matter how i respond it triggers the series of responses every time, so i blocked the Skype accounts that where scamming me and i thought i was done, but this evening a few minutes ago i got a text from this number (210100002) saying this. "hay babe, i just got my webcam working, want to watch me strip? if ya do then send me a text at this number (13125856437). Now before you tell me that i probably tried to log into a fake website and they got my phone number and Skype account that way i am going to say this. i have a passing grade in Cisco A+ IT essentials and i am tought to constantly look for signs of the website not being legit, for example checking for the HTTPS protocol at the front of the web URL and checking the web URL its self to see if its the real URL. and i don t "give" my information to surveys attempting to unlock a download... i m not that stupid. If anyone has also had this problem please respond and tell me how you got to the bottom of this and ultimately stopped the scam, Oh and one other thing... with Skype if i block the contact name that is sending me the scam then a few minutes later i get the same scam almost down the exact word from a different user account. I assume that if i wait long enough it will be simmiler with the texts. anyway please help me get rid of this...

I get these on Skype quite often, I just instantly block them. I've never had any texts though...

Maybe someone has put your number online?

 

Have you got your phone number linked to your Skype account? I had the same problem once, it's annoying.

i believe that the only accounts that my phone number is linked too them are my Microsoft my google and my yahoo account. and that's it. so i don't know how these people got a hold of it

 

I don't know if you know, but Microsoft owns Skype. Sounds to me like spyware. Now that they have your info, changing passwords (all of them, any password ever typed in the computer, pretty much) and changing your phone number will be the only way to stop it.
