Okay so... I havent got so much of an issue getting my wheel to work, As soon as I re-installed to steam the wheel worked perfectly, apart from needing to invert FFB.
The real issue is when i get to driving.
1- the steering seems to be non linear, as in the first 30 degrees each way do very little turning, very similar to when you set non linear steering in euro truck sim 2.
2- There seems to be a delay to the input to the actual wheel in the interior of the car
3- The speed the wheel turns at INGAME is very different to the speed I turn my g27

This results in very weird feeling steering causing me to almost lock each way when correction is required, due to slow response. Is there a way to make steering direct and linear? If not, is there plans to impliment such a feature to give wheel users a better experience?

As a side note the game has improved bounds since i last played, the suspension and tire model seems to have improved greatly, however wheels are still wobbly at times if under enough torque. The steering is the only real major issue I have with the vehicle control at the moment.

For referrence, I do have my drivers license and own a car, so I know what driving an actual car feels like, and I've played many driving sims including iRacing, Rfactor, Assetto Corsa, ETS2, Simraceway ect so its fair to say I know the standard of driving games.

if you look at these videos you can see how its required to exaggerate steering

    1) The new tire settings in 3.8.1 just released in the last few moments should fix this. The previous version's tires were an improvement but not quite stiff enough to match reality.

    2) This is usually a visual effect caused by low fps, but can also be in the physics if your cpu is not able to run the simulation at real time (too many vehicles spawned or too weak of a processor) FPS counter can be displayed with ctrl+f. If, when you pause the physics with "j", the fps goes up significantly, that means your cpu is not running at real time.

    3) The steering wheel prop rotation is set to match the real life vehicle's amount of steering lock, not the controllers.

Try the new version and let me know what you think :)

So delayed/slowed steering is due to CPU stress most likely?
I will try the new version, I was watching it download while testing out dirt rally.

For referrence, this is my PC specs.
