Emulating is typically a 10 times overhead, give or take particular oddities in one architecture or another

I would say it is a bit more than that. The dolphin emulator for wii can make my machine lag, and the wii had a crazy slow GPU. We haven't even started an Xbox 360 emu and I'd say we are nearing 10x faster, though the architectures are different.

But remember that in dolphin you are probably trying to play the games in HD as well which the wii did not do.

One thing that always amazed me is that even old or modern low end phones can run ps1 games without any issues. I then connect my bluetooth controller to my phone and can play wipe out and grand turismo. The graphics look pretty good as well compared to many "native" (unity usually) games often looking better than the native ones.

Original Xbox emulation shouldnt be a big issue on pc due to x86 surely? Why hasnt it been done yet?

I also ran a dreamcast emulator on my pc and played metropolis street racer. The amount of advertising that they put in that game was insane, it played an advert at the start of each level usually for 90's/00's electronic music. The graphics were actually pretty good though, helped a lot by standard defenition.

Because it ran a full operating system and its proven difficult to reverse engineer.

This is also the reason for there not being a 360 emulator.

I guess we are not going to see many emulators into the future then since these systems keep getting more and more complicated.

I've been running out of RAM quite a bit on the G630 machine... It's annoying.

coming home late, exited to play a new game after another day of modern slavery, turn on my pc and wittness something i can only describe as a digital lsd trip with my res. reduced to 800x600 and a "code43" error message on my gpu.
...ill cry myself to sleep now.

    i think you broke it:

1,106MB/s, i don't believe that, as not only is that a mechanical HDD, but it's only on sata, which doesn't support that kind of speed

LOL! There's no way in hell that that's accurate. I have the slowest mechanical drive I've ever seen.

It's also underestimating your GPU quite badly. I used to have a 270, essentially an underclocked 7870, it played most games just fine (60 fps, mid-high settings). Although it did struggle with some of the more demanding games.

Something tells me that this Userbenchmark thing is horribly inaccurate.

    Ya know, just a feeling.

Case in point: AM3R2, 1 CPU, 3 cores, 6 threads.

The FX-6300 is a true 6-core, 6 Thread CPU. Fail, guys.

Wow, both the 750 Ti and 260X are perfectly fine cards for 1080p/30 in most modern games, and can even pull 60 in some not-so-demanding games with the graphics turned down a bit.

It might be counting FPUs as cores. That's still wrong, but the FX processors do have the crippled 'siamese cores'.

Hey, at least it's not biased. Both AMD and Nvidia are shit to it.

8gb is soon to be the new low and 16gb being the new good point, with these new games like GTA, it uses like... 6gb! but for day to day tasks, 8gb is fine, but if you have 16gb you are set for a long... long... LONG time, like me! :D

    - - - Updated - - -

Also, that benchmark website is poop, it said my 750 ti can barley handle day to day taskes giving me a 25% score, so I slapped in a 960 and it raised it to 50% saying that it will struggle to run 1080p games on ultra. *Flips table* Avoid that website, basically it just says all cards are shit unless you have the top teir.

*sigh* Just spent the last 6 hours, instead of going on Dirt Rally, deleting a virus on my computer. What a bore. And, better yet, I have to do it manually! It dumped files in the system32 folder, Appdata and documents and put various keys into the Registry. I have to go through the Registry manually, delete all files that look suspicious and/or look them up to see if I deleted them with no need and then had to re-add them. What experience have you guys had with Viruses? I've had pretty much everything under the sun in terms of viruses, malware, adware, email-worms, trojans, the lot and this virus seems the bitchiest of the lot. I don't know if this post belongs in this section of the forum but I just got out the bath and really CBA tonight. I will be on my laptop most of the night for revision and researching this bastard of a virus on my beautiful baby, my desktop.
