Gaming PC Under $1350

I cant seem to spend over $1k on a rig and not have it be extremely powerful. Rocking dual x5650's, HD7950 @ 1GHz, and 24GB ECC DDR3 for ~ $1000. I found a new 750HX PSU on ebay for $70 and all of the RAM (+2TB HDD) out of an old server I payed $420 for. Each Hexa-core Xeon was $95 a piece and the MOBO was $125 I believe. I payed $350 for the HD7950(new,) and $75 on a huge sturdy case.

My $650 used gaming laptop also runs BeamNG on maxed settings with no problems whatsoever.

Nvidia model numbering is the generation (6) followed by model (20). 6th gen was replaced by 7th gen in turn now replaced with 9 (they skipped 8 for desktop parts, there are 8 series mobile parts). So you are effectively looking at a 2 generations old card. Model 20, the 10 and 20 cards were intended for machines that do not have a video output from factory (certain AMD or Intel Xeon builds do not have any integrated graphics) but dont actually require hardware acceleration for gaming, they are suitable for media playback only and not for gaming. The 50 is your absolute bare minimum card for gaming, 60 and 70 preferable, the 80 and 90 then become more oriented towards maxing AAA games on large resolutions.

Bare minimum budget card now? 750, preferably a 750 Ti. Recommended, 960 or 970. Thats NVidia wise anyway. I know little about AMD offerings, I hate them, I am yet to come across an AMD GPU equipped machine that hasnt had issues and refuse to touch or recommend them myself, someone else can help on that front, I ain't going there.

Also, 980 is overkill for 1080p, go 970, and save $200.

A GTX 960 is also very nice if you need to cut on some cash, most games running sweeeeet on ultra Not saying its better of course, but maybe you could do 2 960's over 1 970? 0.0

Well here's my 2 cents. 8 GB ram is really all you will need and you also don't need a i7 to run this game. I've got a i5 4460 and all I've had to change was the stock cooler.
