Do you mean something like this? It is the first vehicle I am doing. I modeled some houses in sketchup before. I tried to keep the polyflow as clean as possible but I have to improve it here and there.
@lionflyer If this really is your first car in Blender, it's just epic, dude! Well done and don't give up.
Just a little thing I'm working on at the moment. Check out the model in 3D on Sketchfab: https://skfb.ly/CTYJ
The only think i've made (and didn't finish ) in 3DS max is this And with a body made really fast to see how it looks I think i'll try to continue it, but i've got a lot to learn
Here are some ugly viewport renders of a little project that is currently sitting around on my drives waiting to get done: Robot legs 'n' stuff.
How long did that smoke render took? - It looks really awesome, and knowing Cycles doesn't support Scatter on GPU, I guess it was some overnight render? Also, the way that 2 smokes blended, are there 2 sources and then you placed in an empty with a vortex force on it? Here's some of my stuff: I modelled my desk for some reason Then modelled a jersey barrier and tried to add some details by sculpting it And then experimented with some normal-map making in Blender (would be useful if I need to make simple normal shapes I think) And then some node-setup for materials experiments (I used the same setup for the table and the jersey barrier) This node setup is based on this, which is quite useful since it auto-generates a normal/displace/roughness/specular/cavity map from a single diffuse texture within Blender (and you can adjust everything by editing the color ramps) http://www.reynantemartinez.com/how-to-generate-texture-maps-from-a-single-image.html
I've found it comes with the price tag. The only ""professional"" paid software I have used that isn't crashy as hell is Photoshop.
I don't think I've ever had Photoshop crash on me, so I'll agree there. To be fair on SW, getting it to do polygon modelling is like getting a crane to assemble a Lego house.
Simple render of a blue model hummer (it's only 18" long in the program) that I did for school. Part of my senior high school final. OC is in 4k. Made in Inventor 2016 (imported from here)
Here are a few other shots.... No renders, just shots from the workflow (Wireframe w/ hidden lines, all wireframe, realistic w/ reflections/shadows. Inventor 2016 still has lots of bugs, the rendering doesnt work when you have a background (such as the warehouse seen here) I uploaded the .ipt (in ZIP format) of the frame when it has been simplified into one piece, and if you want to look at the file, I can export it, just ask. I can do most 3D files... Not sure if it can be opened by Blender.
I love the stuff in this thread, keep up the good work everyone! Anyways I finished some off-road tires!
