    Edit:
What you are about to read is particularly negative, please do not worry about it, further in the forum it is resolved/disregarded.

I am so lost with this mod, everything I've done feels like it has all been for nothing.

    Nobody wants it
    Nobody likes it
I've spent hours on something and I don't even know if I like the results myself, it's ugly, unrealistic and pointless.
Countless mods I'd like to make but I have to finish this one first but have found myself lost on a trail to nowhere trying to come to an end on it.

What can I do, it seems pointless to keep working on it when I basically need to overhaul the whole mod when I just want to make something different. :(

Where does one go from here

Woah woah woah. Hold your horses. There are a lot of people that really want this mod and that like it. Just relax man. We are trying to give you things to make it more realistic and suited for a derby. Nobody on this forum said they don't want it. Just keep working and you will get it man. You have got this far and for the most part this is a really good mod. We are just trying to help you tweak it to make it better.

    Thanks, I needed this.

I apologize for the cry for attention.

    On a side note.

Things I was thinking I might do to improve this mod:

    • Make a hood exhaust header and make the old an optional side feature for variety to satisfy the hardcore enthusiasts.
    • Change and re-jbeam the rollcage to have window bars that reach over the roof and to the top-rear bar
    • Try to find a front bumper to suit this project [obviously WIP atm]

By window bar do you mean halo bar? Cuz it's already got a roll cage which is plenty. I wouldn't worry about anything more for going over the roof.

The bumper doesn't need to be crazy. It needs 2 main things.

    The most important things is
    a) it needs to stay on, no matter what.

    B) it needs to be tough enough to not fold into a worthless pile of sheet metal like all the stock bumpers do.

A flat bumper would be fine as long as it's tough and stays on. The pointy would be good too, but those 2 things are far more important than anything else.

AND I appreciate the work you do. There are just a few things that can make this project more realistic in my eyes. Only trying to help you improve, not be discouraged!

    @Slayersen
This idea might be buried throughout the thread. Are you encouraged to use the stock bumpers from moonhawk, t-series, h-series, and Gavril offroad bulbar with some strengthening? Sort of a if it aint broken don't fix it fix it solution. You have fans, take a break if you really do hate this.

Umm, okay, why do I need to use the stock bumper, I think you've read this wrong as Mopower77 stated that the stock bumpers are a worthless peice of sheet metal basically after one slow collision, he doesn't appear to be hinting at anything.

    No more like the moonhawk.
T-Series would be huge and ridiculously unnecessary and unrealistic.

To be honest, I did mean what both of you said. A. make a bumper uber strong, B. if frustrated with modeling one's own masterpiece, take the bumper from moonhawk, t-series, h-series, gavilO, if the developers do not mind us asking.

The most frustrating thing I feel now is that I do not know if you are mad or not. Really I don't, and since I don't know I am going to fly away from the thread. Last time I talked with your thread in history Nadeox1 got mad at me and started warning me. The steering in this game sucks.

And I really do like your work.

What he meant was take the moon hawk bumper and stiffen up the jbeam so it's a lot stronger. It is kinda in the right shape it just can't be flimsy and stick way out from the sides of the truck or it will get caught to easily

Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux]

What I meant was that you need the bumpers to be strong... The stock gavril offroad bumper is a beast already, and it's rounded which is sort of like having a point... You just need to figure out how to hard nose it to the frame so that it doesn't fall off, but the frame needs to be strong enough to hold up to the bumper as well... Sort of a catch 22. Your bumper should be as strong as the car is. The stronger the car, the stronger the bumper, but if you have too strong of a bumper, the frame will just buckle and nose right away. Stock off-road bumper can be used, but remove any stock bumper brackets, and attach it directly to the frame. It shouldn't fall off after an hour of hitting with the front end.

Or do what Tylerb said and just stiffen the a different bumper... Whatever you want to do, but like that stock pickup skin bumper is obviously too weak.

No, I know what you meant

You meant I could even take a bumper from another vehicle and modify it's strength to make it not so flimsy.

I have no clue as to why someone would suggest a T75/65 bumper however.

    Also:

When making bumpers I made my attach jbeam so it would be attached perfectly to the frame and the attachment of the bumper would be indestructible.

But the bumper would usually be very strong however the trouble I am having isn't how or what needs to be done to make it strong.

It's the type of bumper i'm dealing with.

If you can Find a way too hard nose the off-road bumper so that it doesn't fall off, that'd probably be fine man. I actually like the roamer off roadbumper a little better, but up to you.

And don't bother with any push bars or grille guards. Just the bumper

Just seen a pic of my old derby mod because I noticed it got bumped two weeks ago..

I'm thinking I might bring back something similar to the old bumper [Higher Detail and smoothing]

That'll work fine but you could make it simpler yet.. as long as it stays straight

Again, Making it so it won't bend/snap/fall off isn't an issue, I've got that covered.

That is literally a matter of ones and zeros

Changed some textures up, remodeled another bumper.

    Thoughts?
