So here I have a 49cc petrol 2 stroke. Now i was about to go for a long ride on my scooter when this happened. BTW the motor was working all day before this.
It was going good then I heard a clunk and then clicking so I turned it off went back home and opened it up and found metal shards in the top of the barrel and it took two chunks out of the piston and barrel (Pics below) (this engine was new, I just replaced the old one) I put it back together and went out for a 50km ride :D (Ordered a new motor the next week)
But the only theory I have is that it wasent cleaned out properley in the manufacturing process. Any other ideas?

you know, that you mustn't accelerate fully for the first 500-1000km with a new engine? And that you have to give it a bit more oil (1:33 instead of 1:50) in this time so that the motorparts can adjust to each other!

Top of that cylinder should never have even nearly that much swarf in it, shouldnt have any at all. Almost looks like its been running with no oil.
